Sen Kennedy up. Says anybody who wants to serve on the Supreme Court must have a "core conviction" of civil rights. The American People didn't get much information. What is the Bush Administration hiding from the American People? We didn't get it during the hearings.

Kennedy looks so bad because of all the exercise of running back an forth for the voting on the senate floor.

I wish I could find the excerpt I read earlier (Washington Post?). Their summary: Lindsey said Ginsberg had a heart.

Wouldn't you know. What he forgot to say is her heart is as black as the ace of spades.

Robert's wife has two more degrees than he does.....Maybe she should be nominated for the next justice position....;^)

I was thinking the same thing. There's been a first black justice. A first female justice. Now we could have the first husband-and-wife justices.

Re Jane Roberts

Two years ago she scaled down -- she stopped practicing law and was tapped to start the firm's in-house training and evaluation program. She's still on the boards of Holy Cross College and the John Carroll Society, a Catholic lay group. She and her family live in Chevy Chase and her children attend Episcopal Day School.

Too bad the Senate Debate on Roberts isn't scheduled for Sunday -- that's a full moon and Box-O-Rox would be in rare form, even for her.

I have to hand it to old Arlen..he's run this hearing perfectly..and slapped down the Dems whenever needed...and stuck to his timetable..he deserves a kudo..

Plus he surprised a lot of people about how "smart" he is, his questions showed a good intellect. Which I guess is the buzzword these days.

As far as finding another nominee as smart as Roberts, W just has to find one smarter than the Dems on the Committee, hee hee.

I would say Republicans did a good job selecting these witnesses. Already 3 Democrats speaking in strong support and not a single Republican opposing him.

Plus while Dems on the committee pretended to be open minded with regard to supporting or opposing Roberts all witnesses they have invited speak against cnfirmation (even though most of them have nothing to say relevant to the subject). Which shows their true colors.

Thanks.

Yesterday, Dershowitz was trying to make himself feel better by saying that he thinks Roberts will be another Kennedy....Susan Estrich thinks he will be another John Paul Stevens, who she says is a "moderate".

My mom put my dad through law school and then served as his secretary...taking us to the office with them.....It worked for them but they had a unique relationship....GeeZ We don't want a set up for the first divorce of SCJ. Looking at Jane's resume and her relationship with her family, can't imagine her wanting to serve......
