NBC ^ | September 13th, 2005 | Local News

Posted on 09/13/2005 4:16:47 PM PDT by No Blue States

A refugee thug tried to grab a 14 y.o. girl in east Fort Worth. She fought back and the perp was caught.

His bail was set at only $2500?!!

There is a picture at the link.

Also on the local news they said a cheerleader at school was assaulted and had her clothes ripped off. She fought back and got away also. The perp is unknown but the school security tapes may help. This may or may not be refugee related.

These were wise girls to fight back. It may have even saved their lives.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A hurricane refugee is accused of trying to abduct a 14-year-old girl after she got off her school bus.

28-year-old Glenn E. Holloway of New Orleans was charged with unlawful restraint of a person younger than age 17.

The high-school freshman told police a man approached her Monday afternoon at the bus stop, then started chasing her as she ran toward her Fort Worth apartment.

Police Lieutenant Dean Sullivan says the suspect grabbed her from behind but she broke free. She called her mother on her cell phone and then called police, saying a man with a stick was chasing her through her family's apartment complex.

The girl was able to slip into her apartment and keep her younger siblings quiet. She wasn't injured. Sullivan says police captured the man about ten minutes after the girl called 911.

Holloway and his mother arrived at a shelter in Fort Worth after fleeing Hurricane Katrina. They recently were placed in temporary housing near the school bus stop.

a lot of these people probably aren't used to residing in an area where the police departments actually do there job.

that said, the bail is ridiculous - but that's not the police departments fault.

Hmmm. Looks like Texas is taking care of getting some of these 'criminal elements' into the system in the state. They won't get away with things as easily as they did in New Orleans.

One of "our" evacuees in Massachusetts tried it. No details, as I just caught the end of the story on Howie Carr's show tonight.

His lawyer probably argued that he was under severe emotional duress from Hurricane Katrina and that normally he would never "ever" act like this. Of course, with all the perp records destroyed in the "basements of New Orleans" we'll never know.

Real charming dude. Are those pigtails he's wearing? I'd lay long odds its not the first time he grabbed someone and got caught. I wonder if he was reunited with his mother after the NO jails were emptied, or if he was on some other release program.

I was wondering right from the start of the catastrophe in the Superdome and Convention Center in NOLA whether one of the main reasons the Mayor and Gov. did not even attempt to provide public transportation out of NOLA is that they well know how many vile scumbags like this would be on those buses, how many weapons, etc. -- without 10 cops per bus they may have felt they would be creating another kind of disaster. I'm not excusing them, I've been among the people calling for their heads, but given than NOLA had thousands of the vilest criminals in the land on the loose it may have been a tough prospect to risk allowing them to take over busloads of people in a mass evac....

True, but many of us are concerned about the crimes they must commit before they can be caught. It could be our mothers, sisters, wives, or daughters and they might not all get away as in this case.

Luckily these 2 girls fought back and got away.

Imagine his shock when the police arrested him 10 minutes after he committed the crime....

As opposed to NOPD never arresting him.
