'BIMBO' BLONDES BLOWN OUT
Sky News ^ | 9/5/2005 | Sky News

Posted on 09/10/2005 9:01:42 AM PDT by Mike Bates

Gentlemen apparently no longer prefer blondes.

Instead, they would rather choose the brains and sophistication more often associated with brunettes.

That is according to a study into hair colour and the intensity of attraction, which showed 51% of men thought brunettes were more attractive.

Researchers at City University showed 1,500 men three pictures of the same model digitally enhanced as a blonde, a brunette and a redhead.

They were then asked to give their impressions of the model's personality based on her hair colour.

Brunettes were described as intelligent by 81%, while 67% described them as independent and self-sufficient.

Two-thirds of the men (62%) said the brunette women appeared stable and competent.

The blonde model was described as needy and lacking in independence by four out of ten.

Redheads were thought to be intelligent by 79% of the men, although 45% described them as neurotic.

City University Professor of Psychology Peter Ayton led the research commissioned by hair products company Sunsilk.

He said blonde hair had historically been seen as a symbol of youth which was attractive to men, but added: "As the role of women has evolved, men's expectations of women have changed.

"They're looking for more intense, equal partnerships and appearance has a large role to play."

Security and maturity, to a woman, means JOHNNY PAYCHECK

And only STUPID men fall for it. They can live with their cats as far as I'm concerned.

Do you have something like that with men?

Seriously,
I think our guys are way better looking too...
GW vs Kerry
Dennis Miller vs Michael Moore
Regan vs Carter
etc

Oh my, and lets not forget Greg Kelly!

"There's not a lot of conservative women in these parts."

Where are them parts? Looks like a potential trip, if they are also single.

Didn't say anything about retiring at 35. But I did mention the fact that I own two casinos in Las Vegas. That's probably scaring a lot of people off. Probably ought to get rid of that. Maybe I should just lie and say I own a harley and have a prison record.

i have been happily married for 20 years and can't speak personally of online dating experiences, but i will tell you this. My daughter goes to a small school with no more than 20 faculty. of that 20, there has been one marriage and one engagement in the past MONTH, each to someone they met on match.com. i thought that was pretty impressive for that site and i haven't been on it nor heard anything else about it.

I tried eharmony, all I got was women with 3 kids(nothing wrong with that, I just dont want a pre-manufactured family right now) or neurotic blondes. I had over 40 matches my first month and I didnt like any of them, guess I am to picky. I met one woman at a Circle K(brunette) and ended up dating her while I let my eharmony account flounder.

The cosmetics company wants to plan their hair-products line. They hope to predict demand by identifying what color hair men prefer in women, and they assume that the women will spend money on products to achieve that look. It might work; the "beauty" market has never been a rational one!

THAT would be a good post starter! Why don't you start a post like that? Nothing better to do on a weekend for a lot of FReepers than to have fun comparing good with evil.

It's not surprising, Nea. I think most women look just fine the way they are and most of us are natural brunettes.
I've also seen plenty of women who are "blonde" who shouldn't be. They don't have the skin type to pull it off and it's not flattering at all. I think women look there best when they are real and not all dolled up with peroxide and fake hooters. It just makes them look desperate!

If you're going that route, might as well mention the jail time was for domestic abuse. Some gals can't get enough of men like that.

Easy, lad. I can tell by the way she stares at me from the TV that she's all mine.

Some fellas look at the eyes
Some fellas look at the nose
Some fellas look at the size
Some fellas look at the clothes
I don't care if her eyes are red
I don't care if her nose is long
I don't care if she's underfed
I don't care if her clothes are worn
First I look at the purse!
Some fellas like the smiles they wear
Some fellas like the legs that's all
Some fellas like the style of their hair
Want their waist to be small.
I don't care if their legs are thin
I don't care if their teeth are big
I don't care if their hair's a wig
Why waste time lookin' at the waistline?
First I look at the purse!
A woman can be fine as can be,
kisses sweet as honey
But that don't mean a thing to me
If you ain't got no money
If the purse is fat....that's where it's at.
Some fellas like the way they walk
The way they swing and sway
Some fellas like the way they talk
Dig the things they say.
I don't care if they wobble like a...
or talk with a lisp
I still think I'm a good lover
if the dollar bills are crisp
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!
I don't care if you got yourself a wrap
all I want is your pretty green cash
Bought me a suit, bought me a car
Want me to look like a hollywood star
Money, (Money!) I want money (Money!)
Baby, ain't no "why", baby (Money!)
I need money!
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!
First I look at the purse!

the "oddly appealing" as in bashing your head on a brick wall because it feels SO good when you stop?
