If he's not well-qualified for his job, and if he screwed up, then I say goodbye and good riddance.

How did this guy manage to be SO WELL QUALIFIED and DO SUCH a COMMENDABLE job the past few years with all the Hurricanes that devestated FLORIDA????

Could it be that the LOCAL and STATE level FIRST responders in Florida DID THEIR JOB but that the state and locals in NO were incompetent?

If the FEMA director steps down then I say that Blanco and Nagin MUST step down also.

I won't hold my breath.......the MSM and Dims will love this as it will put a stamp of approval on their protestations about the incompetence of the Fed response.

The story keeps changing. I'll wait until a news conference clarifies this, the press can't seem to make up their mind if he's resigned-fired-still in FEMA-whatever.

I'm tired of them saying he has no experience. You would think Florida never existed according to the press. This really pisses me off.

While I am not 100% confident in Brown's ability, in light of the resume' padding and forced to resign previous post reports on him... I believe it is wrong to remove him at present.

While some of the Republicans will see this as taking action, the Dems will just use this to scream that they were right all along... that it was all FEMA's fault.

Too bad the Dems won't accept any responsibility and get rid of the Governor and Mayor. :(

I understand your sentiment. Many here are not seeing what you are pointing out. Everytime the Democrats get away with creating a scandal, someone in the Republican party gets axed. Yet, for instance, in recent days, Howard Dean gets away with race baiting, Nancy Pelosi can humiliate a reporter; neither suffers any consequences of their misbehavior.

"Offer the job to Jesse Jackson."

"By my count, that would be Jesse's first real job."

I doubt Jesse has a resume, but if he did, I bet it would be full of some real whoppers.

Unlike the RATS and the MSM, this President demands integrity and honesty. If Brown lied on his resume, he has to walk the plank. It's that simple with GWB.

This is BullShiite! The Gov Of Louisiana, and the Mayor of New Orleans are the ones who need to be sacked! They screwed the pooch here, they left New Orleans to rot, they are the ones with the blood on their hands.

Certainly the LA people are and they are off the hook now.

You mean the pols? Why, has Congress granted them immunity?

How does this take LA off the hook? This was a series of events that boils down to one thing: evacuations that didn't take place.

This is the Feds saying to LA, "okay, you next".

MSNBC is saying he's being removed FROM KATRINA EFFORTS.

Major Garrett of FNC is reporting that Brown will go back to DC headquarters and that someone else will be in charge, on the ground, in the Katrina affected area.

" After the Time hit piece he's being made a distraction by the press."

Agreed. The plan is probably to take the speculation off the table, show concrete action at the federal level and then to put the local officials on the spot. They are still politicking and stalling in LA, making up stories about "safety decisions" and such. It won't wash in the long run.

Doesn't Fox do it's own reporting? They are always quoting the AP or Reuters etc.

Good!

FEMA needs to be shaken up from top to bottom nd that can't begin until Brown is gone.

Just a little bit ago a trucker hauling water for FEMS called Rush to say that FEMA is totally FUBAR.

She said they have been sent to several places to unloas only to be sent someplace else when they arrived.

She said that they are now sitting parked sitting parked at a military base aloing with several hundred other loaded trucks because they don't know where to go to deliver their loads.

To be honest with you, I had no idea who the heck Mike Brown was until this week. For that matter, I couldn't even name a single FEMA bureaucrat from the last 25 years.

If they named Ronald McDonald to replace Mike Brown, would anything really change?
