New Orleans Man Arrested, Accused of Shooting at Rescue Helicopter
Published: Sep 6, 2005 NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A New Orleans man was arrested and charged with shooting at a military rescue helicopter.
Authorities said the bullets apparently did not hit anything.
Wendell Bailey, 20, was taken into custody Monday night by agents with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The agents were in the neighborhood to investigate neighbors' complaints of gunfire and heard shots from an apartment window as a helicopter flew over.

I like when he smashes into the branch/tree on the road during the escape.
Put him on bread and water only.
Then, arrest him after the last body is recoverd.
They need to put him on the first team to start collecting the dead. This would be a good thing for any looters that were caught, as well.
GMTA!
now we'll have to pay to keep him in jail, provide an attorney, and spend thousands defending him.
Where's the ACLU!!!
Nah..You'd jus hafta SUPPORT the SOB til he dies....ON THE OTHER HAND???? How long would that be? ;^)
These poor people have just been thru hell. We ought to cut them some slack. I know that every time life gets me down, I immediately feel like shooting down official helicopters.(/s)
bttt
Feed him to the Gators
"the other man was released pending further investigation" Do they really think he will show up for court hearing or to police station for questions?????????
Show him a jury of his peers. I'm betting that his fellow New Orleans citizens won't have much sympathy for him.
OK...what's it mean??
At least he didn't point a laser at the hellicopter. He could have been in real trouble....
There you go. His actions (and others like his) slowed recovery efforts and contributed to some deaths. Let him work some of that off.
Great minds think alike...
what would make someone do what he did in the first place, what is wrong with people like that?
Welfare 1 to Welfare 2..over...
Why only arrested and not shot?
