We could give him a couple of the Freeper threads about:
1. Times-Picayune expose that NO residents would be on their own (circa July 2005, on Free Republic)
2. NYT editorial about $$ for flood control (circa April 2005, quoted in FR and NRO)
3. The Mayor Nagin memorial motor pool (flooded buses) (on FR then Drudge Report) 4. Sean Penn bailing with dixie cup (here on FR) You get the idea...
Well they did come and suprise him and pose for photos with him.... and then take off again.
He wanted to spread a little hope. - Amen. And had he not gone, Charles would probably be saying - the President needs to go back to this region.....

I bet none of them could rattle off a timeline of the past nine days in any way comparable to the average Freeper. So it Seeeems like the rescue was late in getting organized. End of story to them. They have no idea about the true incompetence and venality of the Gov and her 'advisors' down there.

I count on Charles to be a responsible journalist, and he was WAY off base on this one.
I think we should make our voices heard to get some responsible journalism on Fox.
I think they should only rebuild what is needed for the port- and do what needs to be done to the French Quarter and the Garden District (what areas didn't flood) for historical reasons. Bulldoze the rest and turn it into a giant park.

The first buss to the Astro Dome was one stolen by some kid - There are alot of school busses in the outlying areas - no excuse that these people could not get out.
IMHO that's 1 of the reasons they refused to sign Pres Bush's letter late last Fri and she *hired* Witt on Sat - the Klintoons and DNC need to get a better voice out there - Blanco can't do pressers or interviews. Can't help wondering if the Lt Gov Landrieu (Sen Mary's bro) has been running the state with maching orders from elsewhere and Blanco has just been a front.
