U.S. commercial air carriers continue transporting tens of thousands of evacuees from the New Orleans airport to destinations throughout the nation.

Rooftop air rescue efforts continue. One rescue chopper crashed late today. Crew members are reported safe. Gunmen who fired upon bridge repair contractors were killed by law enforcement.

To date, an estimated 70 countries and U.S. businesses have pledged hundreds of millions of dollars, supplies, food and equipment to assist the United States' efforts in Katrina's aftermath. Lt. General Honore described the damage to Mississippi today, "all infrastructure south of Jackson, MS is either damaged or destroyed." Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice visited the devastated areas, and attended Sunday church services in Mobile, Alabama.

Elsewhere, Sean Penn's rescue boat, sans plug and full of his personal entourage, reportedly sank during launch in New Orleans. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) threatened to punch President Bush, and Jefferson Parish President Broussard decried that the bureaucracy of FEMA has committed murder.

Streaming Video:

All information is subject to change. Many stations are relying on their corporate parents to configure and maintain Internet streaming. Because of the intense interest in the feeds, they may be unavailable at times because of network congestion or a problem feeding the video to the streaming servers.

WWL-TV New Orleans - WWL-TV is operating from studios at Louisiana Public Broadcasting. CBS has a relay during the morning and afternoon. When available, use the CBS relay first as they have greater streaming capacity. They have a secondary stream from Yahoo. WWL-TV is also offering a special low-bandwidth audio-only stream for dial-up users.

WDSU-TV New Orleans - The news staff has started to return to temporary news studios near New Orleans. However, expect evening coverage from Hearst-Argyle sister stations WAPT Jackson and WESH Orlando when the New Orleans staff needs to take a break.

WGNO-TV New Orleans - New Orleans' ABC affiliate has returned to the air with WBRZ-TV and launched video streaming with continuous Katrina coverage.

WPMI-TV Mobile, AL - WPMI is webcasting from 5:30am - 10:30pm CDT. When off air, you can view pre-recorded reports on demand. This feed is often unreliable.

WKRG-TV Mobile, AL - This station is providing good coverage of the situation to the east in Mississippi and Alabama. However, the station is now signing off at around 10:30pm CDT like WWL and WPMI.

WJTV-TV Jackson, MS - The CBS affiliate in Jackson is providing live coverage for both the Jackson area and south Mississippi (knowing a lot of media in that area is off the air).

WFAA-TV Dallas, TX - WFAA-TV is here because Dallas is one of the evacuation cities.

United Radio From New Orleans: WWL-AM, WNOE-FM, "KISS-FM," WRNO-FM, WYLD-FM, and WJBO-AM (Clear Channel & Entercom) who have joined forces as United Radio From New Orleans, and they are streaming.

Gulf Coast Storm Network (Clear Channel Radio) - Clear Channel offers radio listeners across the gulf coast access to a simulcast emergency radio service. This service seems primarily focused on Alabama and Mississippi, but does cover Louisiana to some degree.

Ahhh gotcha. Cops use a similar technique, endless repetition, looking for inconsistency.

Good to know that FAA remains focused on the tasks and priorities at hand.

I agree with your statements regarding the media. In fact, I'm looking for legal and effective ways to exact retribution on the media for their attempts to politicize this disaster, dividing the country when we need every resource to fight for every life we can save.

"Command voice, part of the West Point curriculum."

It certainly worked. Maybe this can be taught to our President spokespeople. I get so tired of seeing them on defense.

2:30 P.M. - BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- As President Bush visits Louisiana, it's hard to hide the rift with Louisiana's governor over hurricane relief efforts. Both leaders have been talking to people in Baton Rouge today, but not always with each other. At the Bethany World Prayer Center, Bush and Kathleen Blanco seemed like estranged in-laws at a holiday gathering, keeping their distance as they walked around. According to Blanco's office, the governor wasn't informed of the timing of Bush's visit, nor was she immediately invited to meet him or travel with him.

snicker/

Why have a "Katrina Commission" and not a Congressional investigation?

That's because she got moved a little bit on her mud flat. She's fine - probably was the safest place to be in the Mobile area during the event.

Newt on Hannity now.

He says we have to have courage to look this in the face, look to the future, IOW, don't blame anyone...yadayada.

I say, Republicans need to have the courage to look this in the face---to rebut the tsunami of left wing media using this to attack Bush despite all evidence showing quite the opposite is true.

I don't expect it to happen, but if any time is the right one to take off the gloves and duke it out with the left, this is it. If there is ever a time for Pubbies in DC to stop trying to get invited to A List parties and to stop trying to get Tim Russert and Brian Williams to say nice things about them, this is it.

It is time to tell it like it is, let the chips fall where they may.

No---I haven't.

Even Trent Lott...who has been kind of a thorn in Bush's side since he lost the Majority Leader position, has had nothing negative to say at all...

AND, I just saw a talk that Bush gave in Mississippi, and he reassured the people of Miss. and Ala that they are just as important as the ones in LA...so I am sure, that some of the congresscritters COULD have said some things...but I haven't heard it.

Hannity is challenging him on some of the partisan comments from the left. He is ducking it, saying those people are "marginal". Hannity pointing out its not just the kooks on the left, but mainstream people like Landrieu, etc.
