New Orleans PD shot contractors - not thugs - on bridge
Mod point of clarification: The first 100 or so replies below were posted in reaction to reports that the contractors had been fatally shot.
I know that the AP changed the story to reflect what actually happened.
I was saying that the AP originally said that the Army Corps originally confirmed that it was the police who shot at the contractors...
Given the AP's history of twisting information...I don't even assume that they were reporting the truth that the Army Corps ever did confirm that the police shot at the contractors.....they may have...or the AP may have made that up...I don't trust the AP to report the absolute truth, given their history.
BUMP!
I expect that the NOPD still on the job are the good guys and actually care about what's going on..the rest...pfffft..
Army Corp of Engineering rep on WWL TV live now
You never know...

ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS NOW ON TV:

I just read this in MSN and the bad guys were the ones that bit the dust. No contractors were injured.
It's time to clean more than one mess up in NO.
On MSNBC, they were really feeling sorry for the police...talking about the 2 that committed suicide,
and said that something like half have quit!!!
Ahhh... I imagine his rhetoric changes in a one-on-one interview. I watched a press conference. Makes sense now. (o:
I agree with your assessment completely.
He is blaming the feds..totally!
watching CNN interview with Nagin..it's not my problem, it's a problem between the state and the feds arguing about who has authority when..he doesn't want to hear it..

As far as the call signs, anything Eagle is someone in a helicopter. Pelican is someone really high up. I've heard several people ask them for authorization to do missions and stuff. Pelican Base, im not sure what that is. Its not the state EOC because I have heard Pelican Base calling the state eoc several times. Your guess is just as good as mine. Anything log is logistics operations. SRT is the special response team, normally SWAT. There is another callsign that is like "asauce" (how it sounds) . I'm not sure who these guys are, but im guessing that they are some type of security team. Several references will be made to "Ultimate Jock". I'm not sure who he is, but he is also someone high up that has given people authorization to do missions and declined them to do missions.
Thanks to Gordon, Site Admin at http://www.scangwinnett.com for the info!
I think it went more like this ... " 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 ... "
Actually, didn't Ripley advise nukes?
I am hoping to see ole James Lee Witt testifying in the hearings about what they DIDN'T do to build up the levees!!!
No flame from me. I think you make sense. It's sad, but I can't argue with it.
LOL! Or words to that effect...
Maybe he said, "HALT, YOU VARLETS! DIVEST YOURSELVES OF YOUR PURLOINED LOOT, OR I WILL USE DEADLY FORCE AGAINST YOU!"
Something tells me, that he would have used much earthier language. LOL! It was funny the way those dudes sort of hesitated before dropping the loot, which led me to believe it was the cop's words that convinced them a few pair of pants and shirts weren't worth the trouble.
I love how the Democrats seem to ascribe God-like powers to Karl Rove. They think he is God and they are in open rebellion against him, I guess.
Bishop Berkeley had a theory that we are all essentailly figments of Karl Rove's imagination. Or something like that. I used to think it was absurd, but now it almost makes sense that all of reality might merely be thought in the mind of the creator. Of course, it all feels pretty real to me.
"The police shot at a gang of 8 or 9 people who were themselves shooting at 14 contractors attempting to cross the bridge. No contractors were killed. 5 gang bangers were killed. This is the most decent accomplishment of the NOPD yet!"
>"I hope THIS story is true and that word spreads quickly through the cockroach net that the NOPD has waken up."
Yes, NBC had a news-camera team on that bridge, and reported the story straight in the 6:30pm EDT news:
Armed men fired on the contractors, and were 5 of them killed and several more injured in a firefight by police.
Contractors and police not seriously hurt.
