Mary Landrieu: I'll Punch Bush, 'Literally'
NewsMax.com ^ | Sept. 4, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

Sen. Mary Landrieu threatened the president of the United States with physical violence on Sunday, saying that if he or any other government official criticizes New Orleans police for failing to keep civil order in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina - "I might likely have to punch him - literally."

"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week."

It is illegal to threaten the president with physical violence.

The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees, and demanded that he stop using the disaster for "photo-ops."

"The president came here yesterday for a photo-op," Landrieu charged, while surveying the disaster scene via helicopter with "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos in tow. "He got his photo-op but we are never going to get this fixed if he does not send us help now."

Landrieu also blamed Bush for cutting funding for levee improvement, before bursting into tears on camera.

In recent days, Louisiana officials have been criticized for bungling evacuation and rescue efforts. One of those officials, Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, is Sen. Landrieu's brother.

Typical of the cheap shots that the Democrat party has become famous for over the last 25 years. Bush is the type of president who would never point fingers, but this low-class harpy needs to shore up her base by ensuring that the real failure of Louisiana state and local authorities remains bottled up by the democrat-friendly media. Slowly, after the media tire of endless disaster coverage, the bloggers, talkradio, alternative internet news services like Newsmax, maybe even FOX, will slowly present the facts and America will understand the real truth of how Louisiana (not Bush) botched the rescue effort.

By threatening to assault the President, this poor excuse for a Senator incites her fellow citizens or non-citizens to do exactly that. This is what the Demorats have been all about for the past 5 years. Sooner or later, their vitriol, hateful rhetoric, and pure animosity toward the President will lead to some nut committing an attempted assault on the leader of the Free World. Then we'll all see what the "Party of the People"has wrought.

Since Bush was elected our Nation has seen some epic, almost biblical examples of the dangers that misguided bureaucrats can enable.

Somewhere, someone is realizing that property rights, safety and truth are threatened by Democratic control of government. The cursing mayor of New Orleans probably encouraged shots to be fired at rescuers and rapes to be committed by the angry, right there with the local police force abandaoning their responsibility and looting as the dangerous waters rose.

Bush is Bad.
The MSM said they talked to someone who said they knew someone who thought they had seen GWB pushing old people of of the rescue Choppers because they didnt give money to the GOP.
Later on, he was seen telling all the children their parents had died because they were bad people

She's toast.

She's not. She's a Democrat doing her utmost to make the President look small and inept, and nearly half the people in America voted Democrat last year. Somebody in the administration better have the fortitude to respond to these vicious attacks. And I don't mean with empathy and understanding and serenity.

I'm a very conservative woman. The gender of a person matters not one whit to me. But by person, I mean beings with a capacity for reason. When they obviously lack that capacity, I call them bipedal mammals. Gender does not matter. Dr. Rice, Secretary of the Interior Gail Norton, George Bush, Karl Rove - persons. Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Mary Landrieu, Kathleen Blanco - bipedal mammals.

I don't really have a gender preference, and I can't honestly say I would prefer a man in charge. I want a person in charge, and being an empiricist, it is my observation that there are more persons in a group of ultra conservative white men than in a more mixed population. If this makes me either a racist or a sexist, I'll wear that badge with pride.

In case it hasn't already been noted, I thought that Miss Mary was the bright blonde woman in that very photo op she is criticizing Pres Bush for. She and her white woman RAT Governor should have a photo op showing them weeping and stamping their feet at the mean Pres of the US who, by taking charge and insisting on the evacuation of NO, lessened the loss of lives of the citizens these two were charged with protecting. Will NO and the rest of La now vote for some take charge people who put the welfare of their citizens ahead of the RAT political agenda?

I haven't read this thread yet, but is Landrieu going to punch the mayor too for not using all those schoolbusses, (Drudge photo) the municipal busses we haven't seen yet, to ferry people out, for not moving the fire engines, ambulances and police cars to higher ground? And the Governor for refusing to call in the National Guard on Tuesday after Bob Livingston begged her to do so? It's my understanding that the President called the Mayor and told him to evacuate the. Too bad there wasn't a Bob Livingston or John Breaux in charge! In fact, too bad someone wasn't in charge.

We don't need Congressmen throwing mud right now--there's enough in New Orleans right now.

I read an interview with Corp of Engineers (COE) spokesman who said they wanted to upgrade the levees, but were stopped by the environmentalists (Sierra Club).

they wanted to build refineries but were stopped by ...

they wanted to drill in Alaska but were stopped by...

they wanted to stop Bin Laden and Atta but were stopped by...

If the RNC would step in front of this, they have 2 prime examples of politics in America today.

Like you and me, the former President of the United States is a private citizen. He threatened to assault the Speaker of the House, third in line for the Presidency.

There was no need for it. Clinton has no dog in NO. No more than I do.

Landrieu has threatened the President of the United States.

Will either one of these 2 people get a knock on the door from the Secret Swervice? Will they be questioned? Will someone in the White House, RNC, Senate or House come out & say Under no circumstances is it appriopriate to threaten either of these 2 men.

Okay, maybe they were talking rhetorically, they are no threat. We have alot of crazy people in this country, and they are citizens, not terrorists.

Is this what another Hinckley needs to go forward?

Above all, I abhor the double standard. Just because they are a Senator and an ex-Presisdent, they get a wink, wink, nod, nod. That part sickens me. If anyone of us said that in a public forum, SS would be all over us like flies on shit. Appropriately, I might add.

In other words, while engaging in a photo-op, she accused Bush of engaging in a photo-op. Can we say "projection?" I knew we could.

The levee improvements were only engineered for Cat 3 storms. They would have made no difference in this case.

Actually it would. If the levees were in good shape the way as they were designed the water would not get in. Did you forget that the hurricane did not hit New Orleans directly, that the strength of it diminished and that levees broke after it passed?

The levees have to be maintained and the neglect was in 2003, 2004, 2005.

I hadn't heard that. Is Bill THAT starved for media attention over this? Guess I'm not surprised.
