ping
bump for future reference
Yes.......we can do that......and I'll help, but I cannot concentrate right now........LOL.
Yeah, truth and the Left are total strangers to one another.
Friday Sept 2nd or Friday Aug 26th?
I would love to see a logistics breakdown of moving 12,000 troops, 5 million mre's, 20 million bottles fo water, blankets , cots, medicine, buses, well everything the left says should have been inside of NO within 24 hours.
bookmarking......thanks for the ping....and your work.
You sound like the 'rats that were saying on Friday that it's been 6 days since the hurricane hit.
Go buy a calculator.
That's great information, Peach. This is the right thread for it. Howlin has asked me to keep the timeline up to date. I'll do my best. You can bet this info will be added with the next update. See my response in #15.
Thanks, Wolfstar. We need to keep this bumped.
That's a keeper.
Thanx
Remember while ago when you said this?
Well I'm too new for my opinion to count much but for the record, I agree with you.
It's not because you're new; it's because you're MISINFORMED.
I won't be able to respond to every one who says thanks, so this is for you all: You are so very, very welcome. With facts at our disposal, we can turn the tide on this nonsense that the administration was slow to act. We need to pass this information on to everyone we can think of -- najida, thank YOU for doing so.
No, you don't have to keep it up to date; let's just gather it all and then put it in order later.
Will look over and bookmark.
Did you catch the nugget in this article:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1476807/posts
"Behind the scenes, a power struggle emerged, as federal officials tried to wrest authority from Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco (D). Shortly before midnight Friday, the Bush administration sent her a proposed legal memorandum asking her to request a federal takeover of the evacuation of New Orleans, a source within the state's emergency operations center said Saturday.
The administration had sought control over National Guard units, normally under control of the governor. Louisiana officials rejected the request, noting that such a move would be comparable to a federal declaration of martial law. State authorities suspected a political motive behind the request."
excellent info
I think that the evacuation problems were 100% the fault of the Mayor of NO., And the governor of LA. If it were not for GW and the NWS then even more people would have died.
However I also believe that a plan should be put in place so that the federal government can respond more quickly in the relief effort. I think they were kind of slow to get in there. It is ceartin that they could have got in there quicker to put down looting and barbarism, and even to pluck people out of there houses and move them to another place...even if it were a tent city. Of course the State would have to support this 100% or all bets would be off. I think it would be dangerous to say that responded quick enough, because they did not for whatever reason. We definately need a better plan and preperation to respond more quickly to this kind of disater. But one thing is for sure. You really can't blame GW for this one.
Lots of information. Worth reading and worth saving.
Simply because the media didn't show it to you, doesn't mean it was not happening. You need to remember that roads had to be cleared. Trucks, buses and other vehicles had to be driven from locations many miles away. Everything had to be staged and directed. The logistics are mindboggling.
Last year, with Hurricane Ivan approaching New Orleans, the estimate for evactuations, etc., if the city flooded was 10 days, at best.
bttt
