Did anyone bookmark the warning from the NHC when Katrina hit Category 5? It was the most dire warning I have ever read, and I told my husband about it but now can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance if you bookmarked it or can point me in the right direction to find it.

Interestingly, Van Heerden told Rita Cosby tonight that NO and State officials did an excellent job, but FEMA and the federal Govt. did a poor job.
He claims he briefed FEMA personnel in 2004 and some White House person and gave them the scenario of what happened with Katrina, but he said they ignored him.
He is blaming Bush and FEMA.

I read the Friday referred to as Sept. 2, not the Friday before the storm, and the evacuation as the present post-storm-evacuation.
Water has a way of slowing things down. There was none in 9/11 and Andrew was relatively dry for a hurricane. Florida was not under water. Also read the first three lines ('Fact:')of the timeline.
