Under an "Impeach Bush" banner on a wall of the Minnesota State Capitol, anti-war speakers tried Saturday to link the Iraq war to a slow response to Hurricane Katrina.
It was part of the "Bring Them Home Now" national bus tour initiated by Cindy Sheehan, the mother who camped near President Bush's Texas ranch to demand that he talk with her about the death of her soldier son.
Sheehan was in the South on another bus Saturday, but about 350 people showed up in St. Paul to hear out-of-state speakers, along with local legislators, candidates and clergy members decry the war and question the president's moral values in waging it.
Several speakers suggested victims of Hurricane Katrina would have been better off had National Guard forces, and the money used to send the troops to Iraq, been here to help them.
"People are dying in Louisiana and New Orleans right now" because Bush, a "warmonger," is intent on "looting" oil in Iraq, said state Rep. Keith Ellison, DFL-Minneapolis.

The war is "immoral, illegal, irrational," said the Rev. Lowell Erdahl, bishop emeritus of the St. Paul Area Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

However, Kathy Dunaway, of Forest Lake, one of the counter-protesters, disagreed. "How can you support an individual who is laying their life on the line for their country and the Iraqi people, and not support the cause?" she said.
The counterprotesters are part of a national effort by Operation Iraqi Hope, based in Austin, Texas, that seeks to dispute the message of the Sheehan supporters.

Thanks for the ping, ALOHA RONNIE! I'll post this threadlink to the Minnesota FR board. I'd guess some Twin City FReepers were there.
I link their a-- and their brains.
There's a difference?
One is content and the other is a receptical, but you're getting very very close. LOL, just giving you a hard time...
Any pride I have left by being a Minnesota resident is held by a string toted by Governor Pawlenty.
Sometimes I get to thinking that to many, life itself is unattainable without a central focal point of politics.
We are devastated as a nation by one of the worst natural catastrophes and it is linked to the liberation of Iraq?
Sometimes I start to contemplate that perhaps evolution IS the foundation of humanity and and some have decided not to evolve.
These people are poor at math also.
There's a difference?
Yes, one's an input and one's an output, however you are correct for in this case the input has not processed any change to the output.

GIGO = [G]arbage [I]n [G]arbage [O]ut.
The ELCA is in the freefall of apostasy. Before long, the old time mystery religion idols will appear.
These so called religious leaders only use religion as a front to their following the, "Communist Manifesto" ..., and they are in the forefront of blaming the problems of Katrina on the conservatives, while the democratic officials down south all knew what they were up against, and had no city planning, in case of a big hurricane, the teachers had no advocacy outreach concerning hurricanes, and probably threw any proposed legislation right out the window, in ways, they are happy their non-initiative policy concerning inner city worked............now they have the world blaming Bush..............it could have been a conspiracy , conspiracy of blocking necessary information couldn't it?
>>The war is "immoral, illegal, irrational," <<
This is precious, what with the copy of his book beneath the above statement!!
They keep trying to graft spiritual elements into the materialistic soul of Marxism through 'Liberation Theology' and in the teachings of all of the current crop of heretics and apostates. At Luther Seminary, some students actually sport a nude female figure on a cross called 'Christa' as the iconic figure of their 'faith.' In terms of the Lutheran church, nothing can be done at this point. Most Protestant churches are shot, too. The day when something could have been done to arrest the corruption or unseat the apostates and heretics is long gone. Today, anti-Christ clearly rules in most mainline denominations.
Personally, I don't make too many nice distinctions with the left. Sure, I can identify genus and species at times, but to me, they're all like wriggling maggots on the bottom of your garbage can on a hot August day. Who cares what they are as long as there is some 'RAID' to do the job that needs to be done.
Oh do I know what you mean, I hadn't heard of the "Christa" , yet it doesn't surprise me, these are the effects of killing in the name of women's rights etc. (abortion), the devil is out there, but I believe prayer works, and I know from having had a core near death , that prayer can be thoughts, as in telepathic comm, that is how I comm in one of the seven heavens when I was there, I can still remember it, and "WOW" is all I can say, to me, the thoughts of "prayer" to Him up above are messages with an energy force indescribable, these thoughts or prayers don't just suspend , they travel and are received, so , to me, even your writing the email was to me a prayer of sorts, in that, you acknowledge the reality of the evil here on earth, and wish it weren't so,,,,in my opinion, those thoughts projected are heard in the heavens, my friend St. Michael the Archangel hears them and believe me, when he soars down here someday with his legions of angels, there will be justice, and hopefully you and I will be onlookers to this majestic display of justice. I appreciate your comments back to me, hope you can make it to the 911 get together, did you read the article about nukes already here, it is under, forgot, but on the side column.
Figures. A Reverend no less! Next news item, the UCC and ELCA merge! (let's make it a threesome, throw the Evangelical Covenant in there too!)
