After you listen to his rant on the local radio station, you will understand from what his mentality is and who elected him.
'He clearly represents his constituency.

Amtrak took 20 train cars north from New Orleans before the storm. All empty. 1500 people could have ridden in them.

Nagin was diddling with his lawyers until SUNDAY night. He didn't have the testicilar equiptment to overrule all that legal osmosis.
Bush saw the danger and went over Nagin's head as much as possible on Saturday.
Thank you President Bush, you saved many lives.

And neither did the idea of having an off-site staging area with boats, helicopters and supplies. That's what I've been talking about for a couple of days. Why didn't they set up a tent city or some sort of temporary staging area about an hour outside of NO? They could have used these buses to move the people to this site & then dealt with them.

"Rename New Orleans 'Lake Nagin'"LOL...you have a certain genius for sarcasm.
It would have been too simple, too reasonable, and politically inopportune to just bus the residents out of NO. There's much more politcal advantage to creating a flood crisis and then blaming the govna and the President.

I need 500 buses, manUnreal, there's about 150 in that picture I bet. How many can one bus hold? Lots more people could've gotten out. Sad man.
