Jack Cafferty really pi$$ed me off on Tuesday with his snarky comments about the President FINALLY cutting short his vacation and doing something about the situation.

The President had been involved in this since before the storm. He pre-emptively declared BOTH MS and LA to be disaster areas so that the Governors knew that Federal funds would be coming to them for their needs. He also, apparently, convinced the LA Governor to finally call for the full evacuation of New Orleans before the storm hit. The morning after the storm hit, the city woke to flooding streets, and it may have been too late to get to those buses.

What part of this are you not getting? The busses were not under water when the evacuation order was given. Apparently the Mayor had time to get his family out, but he didn't have time to consider all the people those big yellow things would have helped.

Makes no difference. If some of those buses have 100 seats, it could carry 200 people (2 per seat) and possibly more (children sitting on the laps of their parents), at a time.

...do you think a democratic gov and mayor of a city could ever take responsibility for what could be the deaths of thousands?
