Just a small housekeeping issue: there are many of us following these events from outside the country. I'm in Costa Rica for example. It would be helpful to know the time zone in which the President's speech occurs.

Just the point!
Pres. Bush should declare LA is a state of insurrection and appoint a military governor. Nagin and Blamco should be placed in protective custody and habeus corpus should be suspended.
Judges, politicians, media whores and ACLU-types intefering should be imprisoned.
But following the Constitution is not an option these days.

The Superdome was a good idea. No problem with hat. But you tocuhed on a good point. Since they had 40 years to prepare for this I would like to know how much water and food did they stockpile for such an occasion - for how many people and how many days?

I don't have a problem, this is a chance for the President to end all of this BS....The Convention Center is the LAST place Bush should go. The anger there yesterday was overwhelming.
Bush is stepping into a very volatile situation here, and he will likely have some very uncomfortable moments.

Yeah - something tells me the Secret Service may have an issue with a visit to the convention center.

Pres. Bush should declare LA is a state of insurrection and appoint a military governor. Nagin and Blamco should be placed in protective custody and habeus corpus should be suspended. I hope that was tongue-in-cheek. If it wasn't, it's totally deranged.

Thanks.
Hmm....I thought the helicopter hovering outside my office window was security for Bush to leave (I'm 3 blocks from the WH) Guess not.

Why doesn't he make it 8PM, so more people can watch him?

Pres. Bush should declare LA is a state of insurrection and appoint a military governor. Declaring a state of insurrection will nullify insurance coverage. Or am I mistaken?

He is not a PR person, I seen the interview, Katie was out for blood and asked questions that were slanted toward making Bush look bad. I agree he did a terrible job answering a reporters questions who was out for blood! Why should he have answer the question about the levees the problem is decades old, not years like Katie implied. How was he to know that the media would be so mean spirited in the mist of the crisis. He knew that he is doing a Herculean job!
So, tell me please how having poor PR skills means he is doing a poor job saving countless lives, housing a million homeless people, providing relief over a three state area?
You're kidding if you don't think FEMA had didn't have problems supplying water, food and relief after our little storm Charlie. It is an almost impossible task that simply takes time, I am sorry to say.

WTF are the NO police department ! Theyre over at the 'dome confiscating kids dogs. Check the second paragraph down. Pretty disgusting. These people have nothing left. At least let the kids take their pets.
No pets allowed.

what is it with you- the libs don't need "fodder" to raise hell. THey have proven that no matter what president Bush does they are going to lie about it to the citizens- they are going to distort it, twist and manipulate it. They are Communists- that is what they do. Presidnet Bush will do the right thing for the good people and get the job done without looking for kudos- because that is what upstanding Americans do- the rest will bemoan, lie, cheat, steal and live off the backs of the good guys. <p.Get a grip.

"I don't have a problem, this is a chance for the President to end all of this BS...."ROFLOL! Yes you DO have a peroblem. Take off the rose colored glasses. If he doesn't, he's incompetent or cowardly or whatever, if he does it's a photo op...He's damned whatever he does, by both sides of the aisle.

I thought a road would be a good way to deliver supplies. It depends on how many miles of that road are under water, doesn't it?
