They should require all lawyers to wear a special color of clothing, that way the Nasty Guard will know who to shoot.

Yeah, there's some pathetic gangleader who could be patterned after the "bad guy" in Water World taking charge.

Crime of all types went down in NYC in the days and weeks after 9.11. I was on the streets of NYC on 9/11 and each day afterward for weeks and I saw nothing even remotely resembling the NO situation.
And the official crimestats don't support your claim either.
Civil order in NYC was completely intact in less than 24 hours after 9/11.

There may have been some going in on the QT already, I don't know - while watching the cable news networks yesterday I saw some interesting looking troops, but just for a few seconds in the background of a clip I've only seen just a few times. It was four guys in some sort of all-terrain vehicle that looked like a golf cart on steroids. It was camo with a hard top on it like a golf cart, but stronger looking. Two guys sitting in the "cab", two more standing on the back and leaning over the top. The were in camo, wearing "boonie" hats, with full web gear, maybe even body armor, and carrying what looked like M-4's fitted with optical sights, picatinny accessory rails, and tactical flashlights mounted at the end of the muzzle. Didn't seen any unit patches on the uniforms though they may have been subdued, blending in with the camo. I don't have any idea who they might be, but those guys looked like killers. I don't know, but my first thought was Fort Polk, LA - which is a training center for JTRC light infantry and special operations units. If any of those sort of guys are in town and operating, the sniper thugs and boatjackers should be in for some real trouble.

while the Reverend Al does the same for Cindy Crawford. No, Reverend Al can't have Cindy Crawford. He's too busy with Cindy Sheehan.

It's interesting that right before Katrina, we were going through the base closing process, and governors were suing the federal government, saying that they are in charge of National Guard forces and so the feds couldn't take them or their bases away.
Now we've got liberals and talking heads (and some FReepers too I guess) wondering why Bush didn't order the National Guard in himself. Can't have it both ways.
And regarding the breakdown of local law enforcement - if you were to believe this blog, apparently written by a guy in a business district high rise, the NO Police has been in total chaos, with bad communication, officers leaving, officers quitting, etc. I've only read some of this blog, and cannot vouch for its accuracy, but it makes for interesting reading.

These lousy socialists are amazing.
In a presidential election, like the last two in Florida, they are capable of mobililizing trucks and buses to haul their voting base to the polls.
Why couldn't they have done the same thing in NO to haul their base to safety?
