TAMPA BAY, August 31, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Ten year-old Joshua Heldreth, the eldest of eight children, was arrested on Good Friday of this year for trespassing while attempting to bring a drink of water to Miss Terri Schaivo. Days later Schiavo died of intentional dehydration. In court Joshua pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service and ordered to write an apology for his actions.
The boy whose arrest photo was splashed on front pages of newspapers across the nation wrote in his apology letter, "I was arrested on Good Friday for trespassing on the hospice center's property . . . Not giving Mrs. Shiavo (sic) food or water was wrong. The reason I had to go on your property was because Jesus would do the same thing. It made me sad that she was so thirsty and it made Jesus sad too. I knew she would die without water and I am called by Jesus to be a defender of the defenceless. So I had to go on your property to try to bring her a drink."
Joshua added, "I am sorry that you didn't like that and wouldn't allow me to help save her life and one day you will have to tell God why. I won't be able to help you then like I tried to help her. I will pray for you every day . . ."
LifeSiteNews.com caught up with Joshua's father Scott Heldreth today. Scott told LifeSiteNews.com he is very proud of his son. "My son has amazed me through this whole thing," said Heldreth. The proud father said it was his son's own initiative to attempt to give the starving woman a glass of water, and despite the warning of his parents that he'd be arrested, the boy insisted. "He was the one who begged us to go down, because he wanted to give her a glass of water . . . We explained that police will never let you help . . . you'll be arrested, but he went anyways."
Pro-life leader Rev. Flip Benham of Operation Save America told LifeSiteNews.com that the whole pro-life movement shares Heldreth's pride in his son. Benham recalls the reaction of Heldreth on Good Friday as he watched his son being arrested: "When that all took place Scott was weeping, this father was weeping tears of joy seeing his son not only talk the Christian talk but walk the walk."
While the apology letter has been submitted, Heldreth told LifeSiteNews.com he's not completely sure it will be accepted.

Thank you for Your post Floriduh Voter, We desperately need a Federal Law prohibiting Starvation and Dehydration of the disabled and infirm, especially whenever there is even a slight question of the patient's desire. In Terri's case, she was denied everything by the HINO and in the end food and water. The autopsy proved she was not terminal and so was wrongly in a hospice under Medicare. That is Illegal!
The autopsy showed there was no heart problems or damage and that the lack of oxygen to the brain was not caused by the heart and so there is only one way it could have happened. Hopefully, true Justice will follow as it did Mr. Skakel.

Doctors had told her Hugh was in a persistent vegetative state (PVS) and would never recover. He wouldn't want to live like that, Michele insisted. Finn was so angry over the exchange he told Hugh Michele was going to kill him, an act he immediately regretted. '[Hugh's] face turned red. He pinched his lips in. His hands were on his chest grabbing [at his clothing]. He shivered and shivered for 45 minutes. I had begun to believe what the doctors said [about PVS], but then I knew. 'You do understand!''
Hugh's parents and siblings weren't the only ones who disagreed. Michele's own mother and sister opposed her. Mary Margaret Keely, Michele's mom, didn't believe the PVS diagnosis, which describes a patient as unaware of his surroundings and unresponsive. At Christmas Hugh had thanked her for a gift and asked for Elaine, Michele's sister.
When she heard what Michele was going to do, she said, she immediately went to see her. 'I told Michele I love her unconditionally, but I couldn't support her in what she was doing.'

Hugh's case was a sad one too. As I remember it, there was a large insurance policy on him too.
The insurance policy certainly adds to wifey's motivation.

I can imagine a reporter with plenty of blank page to fill in and looking for filler for a story running anyway counter to the media position. Grab a used mantra from the supplies and stuff it in wherever it fits.

He should have thought of THAT before he hurt her and left her on the floor struggling for breath her collapse.
He moved directly into the Scindler's home, told them he had to work on Terri's pending case against the doctor, and promised them he would build a big house with the money he got, big enough for all of them to live there and take care of Terri.
HE LIED.
And of COURSE he had make up put on her, took her in her wheelchair to the mall and parks, had her in therapy and took SUPREME CARE OF HER, including taking lots of photos of her...
HE WAS GOING FOR MONEY FOR THE THREE YEARS AFTER HER INJURIES and HAD A JURY TO CONVINCE OF HOW MUCH (oh gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag me) HE LOVED HER.

After he got the million plue settlement, oh schucks, he discovered that Terri would no longer get better and so he STOPPED all therapy (costs money don't cha know) and stuffed her in nursing home after nursing home, ending with a six plus year stay in a place for the dying.....the so called terminally ill.....which she WAS NOT...because he was planning to KILL HER.
Of course, after he got the money, he was ALSO able to move OUT OF THE SCHINDLERS HOUSE, broke his promise to them about the use of the money, and began hunting down girlfriends, searching for a death attorney, and inflicting such a breathtaking lack of treatment for Terri, ordering creepy and mean things like NO COMFORT, NO SUNSHINE, NO VISITORS without his permission, etc., etc etc,
Wonder if he used to rape her when he locked the door during his visits?
We know he would always ask.. 'Is the bitch dead yet"
Dang...her stays began COSTING HIM MONEY!
Had to hurry things along, don't cha know...remember when he ordered that NO ABTIBIOTICS were to be used to help her when infections set in?
Remember when he punished the Schindlers when they tried to get help for Terri by not allowing them to visit her?
Remember when put the DO NOT RESUSITATE ORDER on her door within SIX MONTHS of his getting the money?
