TAMPA BAY, August 31, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Ten year-old Joshua Heldreth, the eldest of eight children, was arrested on Good Friday of this year for trespassing while attempting to bring a drink of water to Miss Terri Schaivo. Days later Schiavo died of intentional dehydration. In court Joshua pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service and ordered to write an apology for his actions.
The boy whose arrest photo was splashed on front pages of newspapers across the nation wrote in his apology letter, "I was arrested on Good Friday for trespassing on the hospice center's property . . . Not giving Mrs. Shiavo (sic) food or water was wrong. The reason I had to go on your property was because Jesus would do the same thing. It made me sad that she was so thirsty and it made Jesus sad too. I knew she would die without water and I am called by Jesus to be a defender of the defenceless. So I had to go on your property to try to bring her a drink."
Joshua added, "I am sorry that you didn't like that and wouldn't allow me to help save her life and one day you will have to tell God why. I won't be able to help you then like I tried to help her. I will pray for you every day . . ."
LifeSiteNews.com caught up with Joshua's father Scott Heldreth today. Scott told LifeSiteNews.com he is very proud of his son. "My son has amazed me through this whole thing," said Heldreth. The proud father said it was his son's own initiative to attempt to give the starving woman a glass of water, and despite the warning of his parents that he'd be arrested, the boy insisted. "He was the one who begged us to go down, because he wanted to give her a glass of water . . . We explained that police will never let you help . . . you'll be arrested, but he went anyways."
Pro-life leader Rev. Flip Benham of Operation Save America told LifeSiteNews.com that the whole pro-life movement shares Heldreth's pride in his son. Benham recalls the reaction of Heldreth on Good Friday as he watched his son being arrested: "When that all took place Scott was weeping, this father was weeping tears of joy seeing his son not only talk the Christian talk but walk the walk."
While the apology letter has been submitted, Heldreth told LifeSiteNews.com he's not completely sure it will be accepted.

Every time I see Terri's parents on tv, it's clear that although their faith is strong, imo, and rightfully so, there will always be a cloak of sadness and disbelief for them.
The Vigil 2005 was such a whirlwind. I hope laws will be changed so we don't happen to witness such an abomination in these United States ever again.
We have a duty to fix the future in Terri's name and out of deep respect for her real family.

I am hoping we all keep watch on this unfolding travesty. His site was updated on Sept 14 and hopefully they will keep it up with news even if it gets buried elsewhere.
This is another unbelievable outrage judges are allowing to develop like with Terri. In this, poor Scott can communicate somewhat and is fairly aware of his surroundings, but that makes no difference to the death cult.

I hope Scott wins this..Hopefully he won't end up like
Hugh Finn. I'll never forget what happened to Terri and Hugh. I know there are many deaths like theirs but these are the names that stay with me most. Probably because of the roles their spouses played in their deaths.
Scott's mom has temporary custody of him until January. Scott can say a few words, and gives a thumbs up, and communicates in ways like that.
Scott is living at home with his mom now, and is an outpatient, and getting treatment.
I wonder if there's anything we can do for Scott.
I think Mr. DeLay stopped talking about the murder of Terri after his aides convinced him that the American people overwhelming supported her murder and did not want Congress to pass any "Terri's Law," including the toothless one that DeLay, Hastert and Frist let pass. The problem is also with the American people and their "leadership."
1. After lots of begging, Charlie Crist and Jeb Bush have convinced former President of the NAACP, DARRYL ROUSON to JOIN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY (or so that's what they call the party in Florida, it's full of RINOS). This tells me that CRIST cannot beat TOM GALLAGHER FOR GOVERNOR so he very much needs the black vote. Crist will only be using them for their votes.
IMO, the black community was appalled by Terri's murder and they were represented at both Vigils. We weren't all wasps at the Vigils.
2. FORMER DEMOCRAT SENATOR/GOVERNOR BOB GRAHAM in the www.sptimes.com today said among other things "We need to look no further than the travesty made of the case of Terri Schiavo to see how the current administration has abandoned mainstream, sensible values in favor of the politics of division and discord. Tallahasseee has become a very different place."
FV SAYS: Don't all these PEOPLE REALIZE THAT TERRI IS DECEASED AND SINCE WHEN IS MURDER A MAINSTREAM, SENSIBLE VALUE????? How many times have we read op-ed pieces wherein the writers write as if Terri was still alive?

I cannot believe the way Terri is spoken of as if she survived and was saved. She wasn't rescued. Nobody saved her. If liberals want to use Terri for the 2006 elections, bring it on. They're going to find out how stupid they are to call her right to life and her fight to live "a travesty". The travesty took place in Judge Greer (Greed's) Courthouse and in Judge Whittemore's Courthouse and by the media who were under govt mgmt during Terri's 2005 vigil.
It is within a couple of miles from where we almost bought a farmhouse. Nice area but far from anything and the last place in the USA I would expect an earthquake. Near FDR's Campobello.

I can't recall the details but if was either Finn or this other fellow, Wendeman who cried when they found out what was going to be done to them. They wanted to live too. Remember Terri cried too. It's going to get out in the open that our brothers and sisters know what's being done to them.
Then, you have Sarah Scandlin from Kansas who woke up from a coma-like state after twenty years and asked for her dad. Killing disabled Americans is devastating to their loving families and it takes away any hope or chances for miracles.
Terri breathed on her own. TERRI WAS MURDERED BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA. We must not ever forget that.

Hugh Finn wanted to live too. No one was allowed to feed him either. Hugh's wife moved him to another state, went through court fights with his parents, etc.
Hugh and his wife had young children then but they are about grown now. One of his daughters [Keelie] is in college now and came on Free Republic asking questions about her father's death.
