Looter are armed gang situation worsening.
Thanks. I'll be fine. I have enough fat to live on for at least a week (I think, anyway) and I have plenty of water to drink. I have my house, my dogs, my husband, and electricity, cable tv, and the internet. I am really very very blessed. I am worried about what will happen if we don't get some gasoline down here, but there's just not a thing I can do about it.
What a total zero this "leader" is. This state does not need hand wringing. They need positive force leadership. She doesn't seem to have it in her to be decisive.
The choices we make in life are ours and we take responsibility for them and pay the price or reap the reward.
I respect you, and I have read many of your posts. You are intelligent and you seek truth.
Yes, there is suffering in this world. There is evil. Bu you are asking much larger questions now, questions that bring your own life and your own purpose of why you were created into question itself. That is good, for it may lead you into the light.
Please sir, could you read this? It won't take long.
Ravi is a friend of mine, a very kind and humble man. His words move my soul.
Take care MM.
Yep.
One of the reports I heard today said that dysentery breaks out on the 4th day of a situation like this, and this is day 4.
It's always harder to regain rather than to maintain control. Being hesitant to use force is not always the best answer in the long run.

Bush is asking Bill Clinton to help coordinate international relief efforts.
If I were the Governor of LA, I would have mobilized 100% of the state National Guard by now.
LOL
Are you actually claiming the purpose of your post was to describe the perpetrator(s) so that he/they could be apprehended? You posted that so as to provide a description in your own little FR-BOLO?
Almost everyone still left in New Orleans is black, so saying "armed blacks" did something is not going "to get the job done in identification."
I think you may be right concerning some of the people who may have stayed in order to loot and take advantage. Also, some welfare types who just assumed "someone" would take care of them. HOWEVER, I also know that there are good, decent people who had no choice but to stay -- people with no resources, small children, elderly, disabled, etc. Sadly, thousands of them are dead by now. Pray for the survival of these good people and do whatever you can to help.
Oh bother.
Hope the relief efforts go to the right people.
Since the aftermath of Camille in '69 I have lived in Houston. I have left town for every hurricane above a Cat 1 that has headed this way. I stayed for Alicia (Cat 2) in '83 because it popped up so fast and didn't look that bad. That will never happen again.
Although more people should have, there were many people in New Orleans who lacked the means to evacuate.
The busses are only for the Superdome crowd, not for the other people in the city. So what are the rest of the people to do? And what about the people who have already left NO. Where are they to go or stay? no one can afford to live in a hotel for very long, especially if their job was lost with the storm.
If there were easy answers for these issues it wouldn't be a catastropic event now, would it. I don't know. We've already given to the Salvation Army and will be working with our church to house those folks we can. It's the biggest freaking disaster in the history of our country doc, lots of people had died and lots more probably will.
I expect my government to do what it can ... remember "promote the general welfare". They'll screw up a bunch, but they'll try.
What are you doing besides deriding people who have been devastated because they're not doing it like you would?
ROTF! Very good!
Man, that was beautiful. Think I'll have that engraved and bronzed. A Freeper Keeper!
If by the "right people" you mean Koffi Annan and his friends and relatives... I would think so.
"I heard last night, there had been rapes
in the SuperDome."
These men kept to their personal priorities, even in a flood.
ROFL....
Thanks for one of the few laughs I've had all week. Well done!
