On Monday, Larry King managed to dig up someone who stayed in NO, who said the weather forecasters told him all week long that they were "100% positive" the storm wouldn't hit NO. I'm sure your relatives will find some grim humor in that -- weather forecasters may not be the brightest bulbs, but none of them would make such an absurd statement, if only because of the sure to ensue lawsuits.

King had no problem with it, of course -- people aren't responsible for their own safety in liberal land.

Sadly, the inept and hapless Gov Blanco is the definition of a Liberal Democrat who has been mugged.

I appreciate her appeal for people to pray to God. That alone must have invoked the wrath of the ACLU and GLAAD.

She is also not a supporter of abortion on demand—you have to give her credit for that.

But, she also is accused of stealing the election and empowering the corrupt Louisiana Democrat machine. Moreover, she is not a leader.

She is constantly crying. We don’t need that. We need LEADERSHIP.

The time for mourning is coming, but it is not today.

But it is clear that she is out of her league here. This disaster calls for Gen Patton or Gen Schwarzkopf, not Cindy Sheehan II.

I've been praying. But what should be done? No one in authority is taking the bull by the horns on this one. What is worse is that the elderly, sick and the children that are there are being preyed upon by these animals. The people there are in an apocalypse. I would not care how burnt my feet would become, I would be hiking out of there and I'd carry my family if I had to. so if in OKC the whole state flooded..and you didn't have any food and water and there was an grocery store right next door you would just let your family die?
you have to remember how the media loves to only focus on the exciting issues..90% of the people in there likley are dazed, stun and just trying to survive..its the 10% the media is focusing on...i'm not downlaying the story i am just making apoint..kind of like they don;t focus on the postive stories out of Iraq.

There have already been some attempts to justify the looting based on "genuine need". If they reach to justify shooting at rescue workers, the barbarians are already within the gates.

It is extraordinary to hear the complaints and the hidden expectations regarding the response of government to rescue and relief. The concept that victims of the storm are now victims of the relief and rescue operation is an incredible mind-set.
