bout friggin time.

but...who's gonna enforce it?

New Orleans PD....give me a break.

I have never seen anything this bad in my 47 years......

and I was in Camille....stronger but more compact and skirted NO.

and for all you Kumbaya youngblood foolios out there.......looting after Camille was miniscule compared to this pandemonium.

back then, folks knew that shite could get you killed by Guardsmen.

“I can do what I want when I want and no one is going to do anything about it because….”

As the Nike ad says Just Do It.... They are just taking it to heart....Unfortunately for them, a whole lot of hurt is about to hit them....

I'm counting the hours when one of those nitwits announce the current rescue efforts underway are inadequate because most of the victims are poor and black.

We already have nitwits of our own on FR repeating the liberal line of "the poorest are the hardest hit". Yeah, the folks that had nothing are hurting more than the folks that had something and now are being looted by the folks who had nothing.

" Toilet paper supplies will be running low shortly. "Mountain Gold", doncha know."

LoL! It's amazing how people never think of that item until they need a crap.

This is a photo op too good for either of them to pass up.

And dip those $300 shoes in muddy water? Not likely!

From what I'm seeing on TV, not nearly enough. In the 60's we had the 101st and 82nd AB Divisions going into places like Detroit and DC. There's a reason no one is talking about using Federal Troops this time.

I would agree, but they want folks off the streets, where do they go?

I'm watching O'Reilly and there are a few men stating "Just tell me where to go.... Just give me some orders."

I honestly cannot imagine something like this happening in the mountain West. The people that live in these parts would have smacked that down hard from the get-go.

But then, I think the justifiable homicide laws are much more liberal in the mountain West. I know in Nevada you can use it to stop felonious crime against your property any time of day, never mind to protect life and limb of your fellow citizens.

I think a big part of the problem is that all the sane people left and only the mutants stayed behind. Otherwise, this would have already played out in gun battles as the good citizens took back their streets. Right now, it is mostly just roving bands of mutants.

I assume you mean giving them water? Not sure if that is the relief you mean.

Otherwise, Shep is harassing officers and freaking out.

I really think Rudy should be assigned to the state. The President has other duties he must see too from the W.H., Jeb is fantastic at this sort of thing but has his own state, the other Governors seem to be doing well enough. Rudy isn't chained to any political office and has the experience needed to bring order.

I'm really not interested in taking out Dems for politics in a natural disaster sake just to be clear, as the Liberals are clearly trying to do from their end, but it's damn clear the Dems in this state are incompetant and live in jeopardy and chaos are increasing as a result.

ugly thing that New Orleans had become long before Katrina. All the hurricane did was to remove the few remaining restraints on a learned behavior pattern - “I can do what I want when I want and no one is going to do anything about it because….”

pretty good analysis on FR

Shoot them then put a Looter sign on the bodies and just leave them there.

The left wing media is already building the story that the looters were forced to stay in the city because they were too poor to evacuate, they simply didn't have the bucks to gas up a car or didn't have a car. There's a used furniture store owner who talks about neighbors asking to borrow $20 to gas up and leave and, since he didn't have $20, they rode out the storm.

By the time the liberal progressive media, including CNN and the NYT is through, the looters will be the victims and the wealthy Republicans will be the villians.

I heard it on WWL and there will be no civil rights.

I don't doubt that you heard it; just saying the mayor doesn't have the authority to declare martial law or any military to enforce it; no matter what he or the media says.

Maybe it's Shep freaking out that made me appreciate his efforts. Goodness knows, I've been freaking out, screaming at the TV actually, for somebody to get those children some water.

Is martial law going to be declared daily at around this time? I think I heard that martial law had been declared each night for the last three nights.

I haven't seen any lawnmowers going out the doors. Or weedwackers. You know, things a looter could use to actually make a living one day.

Weedwacker? Gotta take care of the priorities first...

I have never witnessed a clearer example of being educated beyond a person's IQ than the fiasco in NO now. They could not stop the devastation visited on their city, but they can damn sure stop the bedlam that is taking place right now. Shoot one, ten learn a lesson. How ever many shots it takes to get the point across. Otherwise, they might as well leave and let the animal carnage continue until there are nothing but bodies to clear out.

Legally the State of Louisiana, has no provisions, for Martial Law. No place in their constitution will you find any mention of Martial Law. No Mayor may take it upon him self, or the Governor may issue a proclamation but it will carry no weight as there is no Legal grounds for Martial Law.

One of the best-kept secrets about the Newark, NJ riots in 1968 was the death toll among looters who were shot on sight by police officers and National Guardsmen. A guy I once knew who worked for the city told me years ago that one of the most interesting parts of his job was back during the riots when they had to deal with unidentified bodies that were found in the city's storm drainage system. He speculated that these were bodies of looters who had been shot and then dumped into the nearest manhole.

Yep that's the way I see it also. It is still pathetic. Fox keeps calling the people "refugees". It will only get worse because now they are 'victims' because they were not intelligent enough to get out of Dodge.
