It is with heavy heart I write this...
I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.
He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.
Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.
They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.
The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.
The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.
More to follow....
When you are able to contact your friend again, please let him know that reinforcement rescue crews from the Sacramento area left from Travis AFB around 4 pm (8/30) aboard a C-5 bound for the region. On board were rescue rigs, paramedics, and swift water rescue personnel from local law enforcement agencies.
Prayers offered up for your friend's well being while facing such death and distruction.
Neighborhoods in a 40 mile swath were blown away. It was not a hit a miss thing. It was, hit, hit, and hit again. Anyone still there who lived was lucky. It was not an isolated thing. We will eventually find out how many of those seeking the Darwin award remained.
The official death toll for Andrew is 26.
Started saying the Rosary tonight myself. Been a busy active summer and I was just thinking the other day I have not done so all summer.
Lifting up all suffering in our Prayers.
Thanks for that information about Beauvoir. I was wondering about it and kept watching the news but didn't hear anything about it. I have lived in Biloxi and Ocean Springs both. It is so very sad.
"The surge this time was much higher this time at Waveland, Bay St. Louis, and Pass Christian. Much higher."
I know...it had to be.
Especially given the location where she made landfall.
That's why I've been looking for news from this area.
Since it's taken this long, I knew it wouldn't be good...
prayers for thousands ping
Multiply that by, oh, 1.5 million. Consider the devastation and loss of personal ID, bank records, etc.
This is going to put the hurt on for a LONG time.
Prayers for all!
HERE'S THE PROPHETIC THREAD WITH 27 CHRISTIAN PROPHETIC SOURCES FROM 1940 TO NOW.
Warning, it's not a pretty picture. I pray that pryaer can delay and lessen some and/or that some folks are just plain misguided and wrong.

I told my husband tonight that the numbers would surpass the World Trade Center. He didn't believe me, and I didn't want to be right, but I don't see how it could turn out to be otherwise.
And think about how much more populated this area is now than those were then.
I don't see how in this case they could possibly conceal the number of deaths, I assume we aren't talking migrant workers like in the case of Andrew.
No problem bonfire.
It's hard to keep up with posts here.
No, I didn't take it you were asking for $.
God bless you too. And all of us. This has so many short and long term implications. I am very worried at this point. A major American city being wiped out......Argghhhhh!
Prayers for you and yours!
Well, I certainly won't insist that this is untrue, but if it is true, then the media is most certainly aware that it is true, and there is an absolute total blackout nearly 48 hours later if that's the case. I find this alone somewhat amazing to contemplate.
Isaac's Storm in 1901 (Galveston, TX) killed 8000.
PS. And if it is true that at least 2000 have died in Mississippi, I will still be quite shocked.
I recognize that there is some truth in what you say. I would suggest that it's a good idea to prepare before the boss says okay, and then jet immediately.
I realize that it's inconvenient to leave. If it's your life and the life of those you love, you have to bite the bullet and do it.
It's easy for me to say from the west coast. I'm not convinced I'd choose to live in NO or on the gulf coast. If I did, I'd have a second property in a more northern state. I'd keep it primed.
I know the people in NO love it there. This is going to be a very very very expensive tab because folks just happen to love it there.
"Any word from the Picayune area?"
I have a cousin in Picayune. They made it; some damage to their home.
My cousin said "This is like 9/11" I told her "It's worse"
I guess there just are no words.
