It is with heavy heart I write this...
I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.
He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.
Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.
They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.
The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.
The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.

Great timing on your request, casinio companies. At least wait till the dead are buried. Why didn't you float away! You are no different than the looters who stayed behind to steal and raise chaos.
Somehow I doubt the Big, Evil Casinos forced people at gunpoint to stay on the Gulf Coast in their floating deathtrap. Also, if it were so easy for them to "float up" the Mississippi as you say, don't you think they would have opted for that rather than have thier entire casino destroyed? I doubt that last few dollars they made will cover the cost of building a new casino from scratch.
I'm watching the news right now and not seeing any of this catyclismic end of the world destruction people are talking about on here.
Is it bad? Yes. No doubt about that.
But still nothing to verify the hand wringing...conspiracy hatching nuttiness that is going on in here.
In these kinds of situations, officials are usually conservative in their statements on the number of dead.
It won't. But caskets are above ground in NO.

I like Hugh, but it seems like he began losing respect for this forum about the time this forum started losing respect for him.
We know from other sources there are bodies strewn and floating in various hard-hit regions, but you'd never know it from TV.
This is strange to me as the MSM glories in the daily body count from Iraq, but is skirting around the issue in the hurricane zones.
I'm trying to figure this one out, but then, the media never is consistent in its methods, running on emotions mainly.
My Favorite Headache is a reliable freeper, folks. Don't discount the bad news that is yet to be reported.

Lord have mercy. I suspected the same when I saw the photos and Governor Barbour's eyes. May God provide comfort and strength to the survivors...

The poster of this thread has long-proven his credibility in FR.
He has never posted lies or outrageous statements, claiming them to truth.
Law enforcement routinely hides information from the citizenry....they don't think people can handle truth....that it makes matters more panicy...I disagree with their doing that, but they do. I have no doubt that either the editors or journalists have had their arms twisted to not speak out about this yet, either by LE or their management.
Let's be clear, since so many wish to make a big mish mash out of this.
Reasonable people realize the death toll will rise. That is different than some of the assertions stated as fact.
