I'm wondering why no evacuation orders were issued for those towns right on the coast. NO is miles inland, and it was ordered evacuated, so why not the coastal towns? Or was an order issued? If it wasn't, this is where people (DUmmies, media) will blame FEMA, i.e., Bush.

Bush declared a state of emergency before the hurricane hit so Fema could be prepared. He also pleaded with NOs mayor and the govenor to start an evacuation. Those 2 people seem incompetent.

As to the other cities, it was expected that NO would get the brunt of the storm. When the hurricane turned, it was too late to evacuate. I keep reading survivors saying they had weathered other hurricanes and thought this one would be the same. And I don't think evacuation is mandatory.
