Iran expresses grief at deaths of American people by Hurricane Katrina disaster

Iran-US-Condolence

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi on Tuesday expressed grief at deaths of people in the United States caused by Hurricane Katrina.

He said that Iranian nation and government sympathize with American people especially the bereaved families of the natural disaster.

He hoped that situation in the flood hit states of America would return to normal soon.

At least 50 people died in Mississippi and flood waters poured into low-lying New Orleans through levees battered by powerful Hurricane Katrina.

Guess the leadership of Iran isn't totally evil either.

They are evil to their own people for sure!

But I guess now they want to show their gratitude about what the US did during Bam disaster in Dec 2003

If they just send me a new Persian rug, we'll call everything even.

There are two chances other countries (with the exception of England, Japan and Canada) will send assistance, slim and none.

Despite our two countries differences ya have to admit that Iran is a country that certainly has endured it's share of natural disasters in the form of earthquakes.

Thanks for the sentiment Hamid-Reza Asefi and people of Iran.

I was thinking the same thing. Wish I'd kept a copy of the picture of the Iranian man giving roses to the American rescuers...

In lieu of monetary help from all the nations we have aided through the years, certainly they would understand if we did not send any money to the UN or to other countries as foreign aid until we have taken care of our own people and rebuilt the LA and MS.

Maybe they really did appreciate our relief efforts after the Kut earthquake.

If you can, I'd be quite indebted. When I showed it to LibreOuMort she was almost in tears.

First Chavez in Venezuela, now this from Iran. This is just political posturing, there's no real sincerity behind these words.

Please take a moment to be grateful that our enemy can take a moment to express a bit of humanity.

We don't need their money. I'm satisfied with their sympathies.

It's the dancing (AK-47 Monkey Jumping) in the streets that really chaps my hide. I wonder what the palesites did.
