Hurricane Katrina made landfall today at 6:10AM CDT, and she continues to drive northward into Mississippi and Alabama. Several local radar sites are down. Tornado and flash flood watches and warnings are widespread.
President Bush has declared major disaster areas, clearing the way for federal aid.

DeeJay...somehow...I don't think the idea of rinsing diapers out in the river would ever cross their mind. jennifer
If existing, negligible numbers in comparison with (some of) those in the US who ignore warnings. The photos take may in fact have been taken before the 'clear out' order was given by the Japanese authorities.
I'd appreciate it if someone could Freepmail me if something gets started for her. I thought she was amazing and was so glad my kids got to hear what she had to say.
"I'm not going to sit here and wring my hands like a liberal."
But you are. Now you'll have to excuse me, I'm writing down diapers on my list of donations for the Katrina hurricane relief fund. Ciao!
I told her I would send her Steno Fuel if she needs it.
Next time you talk to her, if she mentions she's needing Steno, let me know via freepmail and send me her mailing address. I'll take care of the rest.
I'm not the one saying that it's OK to steal as long as it's diapers or some other "need."
Reminds me of the time I was traveling through Indianapolis on 465...Was difficult to see the car in front of you....finally pulled over under 71st street underpass....Just then the announcer came on radio...."A tornado had touch down....at 465 and 71st Street".....No wonder driving was so difficult.
Boy, werent you fortunate to live to tell the tale!
" SHAEF ordered the ARC"
Funny how out of 11 men that part never made it to light.
I'm on dial-up and appreciate the pictures; I'd like to see more, but recognize this thread is not the best place. A new thread would seem apropos, or else if you'd like to see up an off-FR page with a collection of thumbnails and pictures that would be appreciated.
Guess Shep was wrong...NO didn't "dodge the bullet."
I thought when he said that it was an extremely premature announcement.
LOL

.... I KNOW you aren't thinking about the floating gasoline and other filth currently polluting those water ways, etc. Sure, give the babies diseased riddled rashes from bacteria rinsed diapers. Real brilliant thinking there Einstein.

Democrats remember:
The party supports the electical line workers but not the mission of the electrical company.
thank you.

I'm taking up a DIAPER DONATION for Katrina disaster infants.....
..... care to donate?
Do you think any MSM will ever mention this? More likely, the moonbats will claim "Bush knew"!
Welcome new FREEPER!
}:^)
You very right. Was driving a Carmen Khia with three kids and a dog in it....Lucky we all made it.
