Prayers continuing for all those still in danger, and there seems to be a lot still.
Whooooah... I'll never be able to get Harrigan's whooooah out of my head today.
This is probably a dumb question....Isn't ALL of NO south of lake Ponchetrain?
How much of the city has 8 feet of water and white caps?
Entergy estimated 1 month to turn power on.
Yes, the lake is north of NO....
Probably expected to stay up in the attic. Not good with no roof! I hope he gets there without getting killed by flying objects.
What does that mean...is a Parish and entire town, county or what? Thanks! (Do you have population numbers for this Parish?)
The mayor said there were a lot of reports of people on their roofs or in their attics
Wish someone could capture that "Whoaa" sound so I could make it my instant message sound on AOL.
FEMA housing director from Metarie, NW side of the metro, says no major destruction(collapse type damage) visible to him, winds about 40 mph, but hears it is noticeably worse in the east side. Copters will rescue persons from rooftops once the winds get below 40 mph on the east side.
What happened to Harrigan....he has not been seen on Fox for a while?
Saying the city's electrical system/main transmitter (?) has major damage, which hasn't happened in previous storms. Will take at least a month to get power back on.
No TV. I can't believe it.
Thank God for this forum.

I have not posted at all on this thread. I have relatives in NO and am anxious for reports. I, for one, would be appreciative if the chit-chat was taken elsewhere. Please have a care for those of us that are dependent upon this thread for news.
Sorry to add to the garbage. :/
DITTO!!!
Did some freeper just say they raised gas twenty cents in the last two hour? I mean down South in Katrina country. That's crazy!
Louisiana has Parishes in lieu of counties.
Agree. After all, that's what the rest of us grown-ups do.
