There you go being nice to everybody again. WTF is wrong with you? FR is for fightin', it seems, lately. Probably be that way until the next election cycle heats up.
Try not to lecture us, okay?
Do like the rest of us do, scroll by most of it.
Did it ever occur to you that there is a time and place for chit-chat and a time to keep noise off a thread? Like I said, go start a hurrican chit-chat thread if you want. Folks are posting to and reading this thread for breaking news. And over half the posts are noise posts.
*&@$ it.
Fox: Eight feet of water in the city just south of Lake P.
Water still rising.
I think our point has been made, so let's drop it and get back to the hurricane. Let's let others have the last word.
Some amazing pictures of the Superdome's roof in post #2532. Looks like just the lining was damaged, and the structure held up.
Isn't that New Orleans? no sarcasm here, we're watching Noggin.
No kidding. What's with the sniping, whining, and recriminations. Why don't we try sticking to the topic at hand: News about the hurricaine.>>>
Sounds like to little sleep with to much anxiety, many people stayed up late and got up early today.
I missed what you posted, but don't worry about it. We who were here late last night were exchanging recipes to ease some of the tension and there were those who complained that, as well.
FNC: KDFW reporter on phone says there are white caps on the water in the streets of New Orleans. Water is measured in feet.
It has been at least 20 years since I've seen it and it would be a shame to lose it. In fact, I remember in the fifth grade at Cary Woods Elementary School here in Auburn, I contributed money to help with the USS Alabama acquisition and restoration. Or something like that.
It was getting out of hand. A bit of chat is one thing, but over half the posts were just noise.
Nice to see an apology...see post 2545.
There were a lot of people about to lose homes and friends who were pointed to this thread for breaking news. It and became an embarassment for Free Republic instead of an example of how great the site is.
I was enjoying your posts as usual, but kudos to your heartfelt apology!
White capped waves in the streets of NO per Fox.
"please accept my apology."
Accepted - if it were needed - let's move along and gather news but not forgetting that gallows humor is part of human nature.
Prayers Johnny Crab.
KDFW reporter James Rose reporting on Fox that south of Lake Ponchartrain is completely flooded. U-haul trucks covered, up to 8 feet of water. Houses under water. Looking very bad in the area he is in.
He is going roof to roof by high rise builsings. Don't know how.
