Fox: Eight feet of water in the city just south of Lake P.
Water still rising.
Well, there probably goes three relatives homes - including mom's and brother's.
I remember a small cat 3 in Houston in '83...unbelievable damage...NO will be the same...
Let us know if they give a more specific location. There are 2 different levee systems/bowls that border the lake, and if the water is heading into the northeast one, the larger central/west one(which contains downtown) will not be affected (unless their levee is also topped.) The dividing line is the Industrial Canal that runs north/south on the east side of the city, should be visible on most maps. The Univ. of NO is in the NE corner of the central bowl(west side of the Canal), the Lakefront Airport is in the NW corner of the northeast bowl(east side of the Canal.)
Thank you for the updates.. I cannot get MSNBC live feed to run continuously and I am cubicle bound.
