Yup been there, 'cept at night.

My mom is from New Orleans. All the aunts and uncle lived in the ancestral home on Upperline all their lives (except of course, and one other aunt who got married).

"This INFURIATES ME."

You can fume all you want, but we knew who will get the blame for Katrina! The rats and their cronie's rags will be screaming for W's head! IT'S ALL BUSH'S FAULT! Bank on it!

Yesterday while I was surfing the tube I caught the end tail of a clip with W, I believe he was warning the folk to get outta Katrina's way. I didn't catch all of it, but I'm wondering if it was a news conference or what? Why didn't N.O. governor step up to the plate?

It's ok to cry....they come from good stock in NO & know this charming old grande dame can rebuild her homes, restore her FQ and renew herself, just let her people come through this unharmed.

People packing up and leaving the Superdome...

Probably a little premature?

Found a smaller one to post.

This image released by NOAA Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005 was collected at 11 am EDT showing Hurricane Katrina. Katrina barreled toward the Big Easy on Sunday with 175-mph wind and a threat of a 28-foot storm surge, forcing a mandatory evacuation, a last-ditch Superdome shelter and prayers for those left to face the doomsday scenario this below-sea-level city has long dreaded. Katrina intensified into a Category 5 giant over the warm water of the Gulf of Mexico on a path to come ashore early Monday in the heart of New Orleans. (AP Photo/NOAA)

I hope everyone keeps in the back of their heads what you reported in your comment that moonbat Geraldo just said. It may be that his sly interjection will disabuse some people of the fact that Rivero is not a liberal.

I have been praying all night for all of you there in Katrina's grip. May everyone be safe, as well as all of your friends and loved ones.

I remember being in the museum in NO years ago, on the third (I believe) floor. I looked out the window and a paddlewheeler was going up the river. It seemed to be exactly the same level I was, and again I was on the second/third floor. That might give others some perspective how low the city actually sits below the water level. It was frightening then, I can't imagine how frightening it is now with that water surging all around.

"A wind problem. The windows were lost due to wind, not barometric pressure. "

That's why a lot of Mexican resturaunts don't have windows.....
