The only other time a domed stadium's roof had a breech was the year Dallas played in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. In that incident, a huge wind and rain storm blew through and ripped the fabric roof. that allowed rainwater to flood one end of the field. All that took place a day or two before the Cowboys/Vikings game. The fabric had a temporary repair by kickoff. the SuperDome is a horse of another color. That's a metal roof, I believe. On another thread, I stated that I hoped the people in charge wouldn't let the people inside the main arena. If the roof did have a breech, there is a lot of things hanging above their head that they wouldn't want to fall on their heads. Hope that they're under the stands in the concources. That would be far safer than the field area.
Godspeed to all those in harms way.

I'm in Singapore without cable...can anyone provide a link to a good local New Orleans tv station that one can watch on the net?
Thanks! And prayers for Gulf Freepers from Singapore!
I bet the gas will go sky high like it always does with news like this.
Just the threat of a gas shortage spikes the gas price.
Additionally, there is a difference between the roof membrane and the roof structure. The leaking results from some problem with the membrane. It is either partially gone or a seam has been opened. I would guess that a seam has opened at the perimeter and the wind drives the water inside.
LOL. He's showing the heights of storm surges from past hurricanes. --- (or...he's dusting, I'm can't be sure)

Was she personally going to venues in those areas and issuing warnings?
SHE IS ON VACATION right now, after all. Bringing in a massive salary....all during their August recess like all Senators do. HAS SHE BEEN EARNING HER SALARY? lol.
How many speeches has this senator made on the floor of the Senate and at various venues in her State regarding the need for improved facitities, infrastructure, etc. in the case of a major storm.
SHE IS a part of the Federal Government, she is a USA Senator!
And if she hasn't been out there for the last four years, etc., crying out for improvements in NO and surrounding areas, THEN SHE HAS JUST BLAMED HERSELF.
What a sick woman. She is deflecting her own NEGLECT of the people of her STATE by trying to get out in front of this mess via accusing the 'Federal Government'-----Hogwash. SHE IS A MAJOR PART OF THE 'Federal Government'
And it appears she has DONE NOTHING to provide for the safety of her people.
Right, I believe the external roof "coating" is polyurethane.
Damn. That is incredible.
I meant IDIOTS without the '

I am cubicle locked and my sister is holding out in Pascagoula. Thank you for the updates. Please help keep us up on what you see.
I lived in Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian, MS for several years. That is where Camille hit the worse and it looks like they are going to get it again. I just went through there about a month ago and visited with some of my friends there. They really need our prayers.
Here comes the rising water in NOLA. Looks like the worst of the winds may be over
They love it. This is so much more fun than reporting on stuff like Hillary. They get to ride fun toys, and stand out in the wind, and get rained on.
The thing is, I see a real potential for people dying in this.
Isn't this really the fault of the senators elected to represent the state?
