Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.
Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

"Actually, I'm drinking anyway. LOL"
Me too! Damn glad I'm not in the path of this monster. . . . Brolsht
Don't think he is reading FR posts at this time but he knows what is going on and will continue to be the leader that he is. No doubt about that.
Me too.
[I wonder if Shep volunteered for this]
"If that was the Governor, I'm pretty underwhelmed that she wasn't able light a fire under the Mayor's arse and get him to order a mandatory evacuation much sooner than he did."
Kathleen Blanco is just as clueless as Mayor Nagin. And it was probably Pres. Bush who lit the fire under BOTH of these losers.
FNC showing people surfing right now.

where is this hard turn north? are they seeing different satellite imagery?
They're going to be on all night. We'll see Brian again, I think.
The Old River control is most likely to go with spring flooding with extra high water coming down river...
Jesus there are people out in the water of surf boards.
Is this a good thing or bad thing...turning to the north?
My father's family came from the New Orleans area. We have lots of relatives spread out from Brazoria Co Texas all the way over to Florida.
Everyone keep in mind the Big Easy is below sea level. This will be a night remembered to be sure.
The wind blowing OVER your roof is putting pressure DOWN on it much in the same way wind flowing over race cars help push them down on the track.
Dear God in heaven.....
please place your hands over the people in the path of this storm and spare their lives. We ask this in Christs name. Amen.
The last bump was due north that I saw. The beast seems to want at the bowl.
my guess is his staff reads FR - maybe even AQ too.
Can you imagine? 35,000 people in the Superdome looking down as the field beings to flood. Imagine the panic as thousands of people rush to the upper deck as the water level rises. Granted, the water could never go more than several feet high but the natural response is to panic when you are in an enlosed area that is flooding - especially if you are claustrophobic.
Get ready for the stampede, can you immagine that especially if the lights go out?
