Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.
Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

Prayers for all of you in the path of Katrina and hopes that everyone is safe. But all of us are suffering the hot air reports of Geraldo. He is a bigger blowhard than the hurricane!

What is the latest estimate for the number of people still in New Orleans for this storm? Last I heard was 100,000.

The mayor said it is down to 140mph to Geraldo. They are trying to confirm this.

I didn't hear that it was down to 140 mph. The person talking to Geraldo said 140 mph would be a lot better, not that it was there.

I believe that estimate is holding steady. Roads are closed.
