CRAWFORD, Texas -- Thousands of people descended on President George W. Bush's adopted hometown Saturday to attend rallies either supporting Bush or peace activist Cindy Sheehan.
A pro-Bush rally was the culmination of the "You don't speak for me, Cindy!" tour, which started last week in California in response to Sheehan's protest that started Aug. 6 near Bush's ranch.
Several times the crowd of about 1,500 chanted, "Cindy, go home!"
Meanwhile, busloads of war protesters gathered several miles away at "Camp Casey," named for Sheehan's 24-year-old son who died in Iraq last year. Organizers estimated the crowd at more than 2,000 but it appeared smaller.
Sheehan has vowed to remain in Crawford unless Bush talks to her about the war with Iraq that claimed the life of her son and more than 1,800 other U.S. soldiers. Bush's vacation ends Sept. 2.
Sheehan and other grieving families met with Bush about two months after her son died last year, before she became a vocal opponent of the war.
I'd say thats about right. 1950 on our side and and 50 on their side.
I talked with bush, before i talked with him.
It was posted long ago. Different headline I guess.
the difference being the crowd at camp casey was on george soros' payroll
Notice that ever since Jihad Cindy's two-faced lies were exposed, the media covers for her in every story by adding 'She met with Bush, before she became an opponent of the war'.
Lies, lies, lies, and more lies. Business as usual for our media!
Cindy Sheehan was an opponent of the war BEFORE her son died, at the hands of a jihadist "warrior" (and not at the personal behest of President Bush, as has been wrongly reported elsewhere), and was, briefly, moved to a flood of nationalistic pride when greeted by the President in a ceremony commemorating the sacrifices of a number of soldiers, including her son Casey.
She almost immediately regretted this burst of patriotic feeling, and has since been trying desperately to purge herself of this misplaced emotion.
Her therapy regarding this interlude is nearly complete. She has become almost totally alienated to the rest of America.
Go back to bed with Michael Moore would be more likely.Paid and used by Soros and th eHATE America first bunch -she
will be discarded like any other useful idiot once her
value to their dreams of Communism uber alis diminishes.
here's a funny spoof:

Al Sharpton Visits Cindy Sheehan; Joey Buttafuocco rumored to be next Camp Casey Headliner
Written by Potfry
Here He Comes to Save the Day!
In a remarkable demonstration of the drawing power of the anti-war gathering in Crawford, Texas, Reverend Al Sharpton of New York arrives tomorrow to address the dozen people who continue to hold vigil outside President George Bushs ranch. Local police were gearing up for the additional deluge of demonstrators expected as a result of Sharptons visit, with some predicting that as many as 5-7 new people may crowd into Camp Casey.
Further electrifying the crowd was the news, albeit still unsubstantiated rumor, that statutory rapist turned insurance scammer Joey Buttafuocco would visit Crawford on Monday to lend his support to the anti-war movement.
But for now, the impending visit of Sharpton had anti-war demonstrators squealing with delight. And its an event that almost didnt happen. The Sheehan camp was concerned that the Baez concert would set too high a standard for the rest of the week, and that many celebrities would be afraid to come to Crawford.
We were trying to decide if we should invite an athlete, an actor, or a profiteering racial agitator, said Camp Casey Social Director Karen Bailey. After putting out some feelers, we decided to go with the racial agitator. We need to make sure that we completely alienate mainstream America by losing focus from our core issue of the war and dragging in every single liberal issue under the sun, and Reverend Sharpton, with his ability to drone on incessantly in ghetto-rap lingo about topics that are really not germane to our issue, helps us do that.
Were simply thrilled to have a person of Reverend Sharptons moral character and credibility address the throng, gushed Camp Casey spokesperson, Cathy Rinaldi. We knew it would be hard to follow Joan Baez, but Reverend Sharpton said hed have no problem trying to live up to the standards of that old gray hippy cracker chick.
Sharpton is said to be planning a speech in which he compares the rape of the Tawana Brawley to what he calls the rape of the Iraqi people.
But some feel that Buttafuocco is the true coup for Camp Sheehan.
He was high on our list, right after Mike Tyson and Paris Hilton, said Bailey. He brings a certain gravitas to the proceedings that we desperately need. And hes so darn cute.
Looks like 1,500 people in Crawford need a lesson on the First Amendment.
Meanwhile, busloads of war protesters gatheredHmmm .. that smells of organization and financing - union organizers/union members?
Who else can be 'mustered' on short order and told to show up on short notice for a 'bus' ride to a protest site?
It would appear to me that YOU need the lesson. No one prevented her from speaking, however we too have that right, no matter what you may think, or understand.
That sounds like a threat.
So they don't have the First Amendment right to chant "Cindy go home?"
Saying "Cindy, you are wrong." or "Cindy, you do not speak for us." is one thing but, chanting "Cindy, Go Home." is telling her to 'shut-up' thus denying her her Freedom of Speech. Perhaps, chanting something about the successes of the War would be more Appropriate.
Sure they do but I don't think yelling "Go Home" to each other is what the Framers had in mind when they Penned the First.
This is perhaps the oddest interpretation of the First Amendment I have ever seen. She was in no way prevented from exercising her free speech rights. Not being allowed to tell her to go home would however infringe on the right of those who wish her to leave.
I would also point out to you that the First Amendment is to protect us from government not from fellow citizens. There are civil penalties for physically preventing someone from doing something but the Amendment applies to the governments relationship to the citizen.
I do not think that is what the Framers envisioned.
Not only can they, they may. It doesn't matter whether I think they should or not, my point, which you ignore, is that the First Amendment has nothing to do with it.
Might I inquire as to how old you are? I mean nothing bad about your age, but am amazed at those who say things about the Constitution who have so little understanding of it.
Yes, you are right - and when she goes back to Vacaville, she will find a huge vacuum there - what used to be a husband of 28 years, children who needed her, and the rest of her extended family and former friends in Vacaville. She will probably have to move to Berkeley and become one of the staffers at MoveOn.org.
New book to be released December 1st: "How to Successfully Wreck Your Marriage, Alienate and Embarras Your Children, Alienate a Nation, And Yet Become One with all the Communist/Fascist/Extreme-Left Racist Elements of Society -- in just two short months" by Cindy Sheehan.
