Cindy Sheehan was an opponent of the war BEFORE her son died, at the hands of a jihadist "warrior" (and not at the personal behest of President Bush, as has been wrongly reported elsewhere), and was, briefly, moved to a flood of nationalistic pride when greeted by the President in a ceremony commemorating the sacrifices of a number of soldiers, including her son Casey.
She almost immediately regretted this burst of patriotic feeling, and has since been trying desperately to purge herself of this misplaced emotion.
Her therapy regarding this interlude is nearly complete. She has become almost totally alienated to the rest of America.
