Anti-War protest at Soldier's funeral - TOMORROW
Westboro Baptist Church & anonymous chatroom poster | 8/27/05 | LibertyRocks

Posted on 08/27/2005 8:34:56 PM PDT by LibertyRocks

HEADS UP: There is an anti-war protest planned by the Westboro Baptist Church in Martinsville, IN tomorrow during a Soldier's funeral.

I first heard about it was from a chatter earlier today on MSN chat who was requesting help with bail tomorrow. I subsequently visited the church's website and found confirmation of their plans.

The chatter stated that the entire town would be turning out for the funeral and that people are "ready and waiting" for these protestors. He also stated that he wasn't sure the local PD would protect these protestors. I am hoping cooler heads prevail...

Here is the info on the planned protest copied from the Westboro Baptist Site:

August 28, 2005 1:30 pm – 2:00 pm Martinsville, IN Neal & Summers Mortuary, 110 E. Poston Rd., for funeral of Army Staff Sgt. Jeremy W. Doyle

I live in Martinsville, I am going to the rally now. I have a feeling that things will get ugly, there has been a lot of talk around town, my mother is on very good terms with the mayor and other people and they are very worried things could go very bad today. I am leaving now to go to the procession, I will post later how it goes.

I have lived in Martinsville for 10 years, and yes, they picked the worst town to pull this crap in.

Thanks! I didn't know about that provision of federal law. Wow, the feds did something right for a change (oh, right- that was under Ronaldus Maximus.)
Say, that could come in handy!

OMG!! The only thing more disgusting than the evil Phelps would be the Gores smoozing them for campaign contributions.

Where are the Hell's Angel's when you need them?

Today’s Hells Angels (no apostrophe) are more into business than violence.

I'm not calling for violence but would never convict the man who shot him.

Jury nullification.

It was a law meant to hurt the Pro-Life movement (law passed for abortion clinic access). But Reagan and the Conservatives got Ted Kennedy and other liberals to agree to the provision about religion.

I would love to see this provision used to hurt the liberals and the anti-war movement...

Legend has it that the Hells Angels, in a nationalistic fervor, tried to enlist en masse during Vietnam. IMHO the government missed a huge opportunity by not taking them up on the offer.
Of course, that wouldn't have fit in with the war plans, as the Hells Angels would have ignored orders not to kill people or break things. A buddy of mine who was a Combat Engineer did time in the brig for firing his .45 Colt (he was driving a dozer at the time) at anything creeping aroud wearing black pajamas, without waiting to be fired on.

I found two articles regarding the funeral today online, but when I tried to read the articles on the paper's website they had a message posted saying they are having technical problems. I hope they are simply updating the paper?

Anyway, here is the google search result:

Legend has it that the Hells Angels, in a nationalistic fervor, tried to enlist en masse during Vietnam.

Many of the younger members did enlist – the older ones were nearly all veterans of WW II and/or Korea. Those with serious criminal records were turned down – unless they could arrange a “Army or Prison” plea bargain.

What's wrong with these people? Nevermind, rhetorical question. They spit on our troops and slander them while they're alive, and now they're mocking their sacrifice at their funerals.

I am very angry. I wish someone would just round them up and....incarcerate them. Feel free to mentally substitute other words besides "incarcerate".

I wonder if a claim for intentional infliction of emotional distress would hold up under the anticipated facts of this case. I don't do a lot of plaintiff's tort work, but this might be an exception, if I could get admitted pro hac vice in Indiana.

Wackos, anti-war rally? Why don't they just join sister Sheehan in Crawford? And why isn't Cindy and the MSM up there supporting them?
