HEADS UP: There is an anti-war protest planned by the Westboro Baptist Church in Martinsville, IN tomorrow during a Soldier's funeral.
I first heard about it was from a chatter earlier today on MSN chat who was requesting help with bail tomorrow. I subsequently visited the church's website and found confirmation of their plans.
The chatter stated that the entire town would be turning out for the funeral and that people are "ready and waiting" for these protestors. He also stated that he wasn't sure the local PD would protect these protestors. I am hoping cooler heads prevail...

These guys REALLY picked the worst town in Indiana to do this.
He's one of the town's people who is planning to head them off on their way into town from what I gather. He said they've been planning to do so since they found out this afternoon. He stated emphatically that these people are not welcome in their town. He was quite upset and was asking for someone to come down and bail him out cause he figures he's going to end up in jail tomorrow.

Thank you for posting this. I have seen many people even on here mistake Phelps for being a social or religious conservative. It isn't so. The guy even offered to conduct outreach for Howard Dean.
Well, you know, this is the play being used on the field at the moment by the left. Use dead bodies to further an anti-Bush agenda.

I don't doubt that. I'm not bashing Martinsville in any way when I say this, but the people of that town will not stand for this at all.

Well, since their idea of "holy" is hating people and causing pain to those who mourn, and their idea of a man of God is Al gore, it isn't surpising they'd get some of the other church stuff wrong.
