Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
I caught a clip on the news where someone was stepping on the signs. I couldn't tell which sign it was but I knew it was PW cause I saw the lettering on the bottom.
There were three guys there, Kfir, Tristan, Will. Will is from Minneapolis. In one of the pictures, I saw Will had his Video camera, so it will be fun to watch the event at our next PW event. It appears that one of Casey Sheehan's moms buses will be coming to MN in Sept.
Great job!
I sent many of the photo's to a friend in Iraq to pass around and let his buddies know there's another side to the news.

Thanks. 99% of the time he is such a darling. That 1% though...He choose to use it as we ate lunch with a Camp Cindy person in the cafe too.:')
If we don't get out in the streets the Left will continue to create another Vietnam.
A guy came into the bar at Swinney Switch and ordered a beer. At the same time the TV news came on and there is Cindy Sheehan about to give a speech. The man yells, "There's a horses ass"
A cowboy gets up and punches him out and then left the bar.
When he finally gets up, the man says to the bartender, "What is this, Cindy country?"
The bartender says "no, Horse country!"
God is good, and answers prayers.
Thank you for being among those standing up for me when I couldn't be there.
Must have image.
Great pics!
LOL...I corrected myself a couple of posts down El Gato. That happens with these long threads you know!
I can't believe the number of posts here! :)
How exactly do you get to Crawford? Wish I could head down there for a day. I assume the pro-Bush people are maintaining a presence. Do you fly to Waco and then drive? I will have to check online maps.
Most folks fly into Dallas and drive to Waco 1 1/2 hours. There is an airport in Austin... also 1 1/2 hours to Waco. Crawford is about 20 minutes West of Waco. There is a map on the thread before the rally. You might want to look over there.
Also, there is probably some kind of Pro-Troop presence there but most of us have day jobs and can't stand on the road all day. So it is more of a take a turn thing.
Fox News, why won't you really cover our rallies?
It would be great if Fox News and Talk Radio actually covered the stories they say aren't being reported in the Liberal Media rather than just going on about how these stories aren't being covered.
They could start by every day showing footage of Schools and Hospitals being built in Iraq rather than just complaining about how nobody is reporting on the Schools and Hospitals being built in Iraq.
Well, I went over to scream at the media for covering what I thought were some anti-Americans from Camp Kookville. However, the young men assured me that they were good guys -- Protest Warriors from Wisconsin. I told them that they should have given some notice and been introduced properly and be allowed to demo how they infiltrate the enemy and they would have received a more welcome reception for their work.
They need to realize this is TEXAS...no anti-Bush, no anti-American, no anti-military...NOT in OUR BACKYARD!
You are correct. A learning event for the future. An announcement isn't going to do the job. They are going to have to be put on stage and explained. And now we know their signs will definitely get everyone's attention! Only drawback is that the lefties might actually start reading signs at their demos also.
