Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
...not to mention most of us have jobs during the week which is why Cindy and that profligate bunch she hangs with can afford to do nothing but protest in a town of 700 people for three weeks. Some of has kids and families to care for and jobs to go to. So we're at a disadvantage and the press are all there in Crawford so who're they gonna report on. But of course, now that there's competition...where are the press?
Well, I didn't see the same CNN piece but saw one earlier.
My biggest gripe with ALL the press coverage is: GET OFF THE HORSES PICS!!! That doesn't come close to representing our side!!
Who are these producers???? Why didn't they show the 80 year old WWII vet.
Or the moms, dads, wives and children that were there to support the troops!
Geeese! I'm getting worked up about this and still not satisfied with FOX's coverage.
Valerie,
No one has responded to Leapofaith and since quite a few of the pictures on this thread are ones you've taken, would you answer her?
Thanks!
Slowly, slowly catchee monkey. That's the first coverage we've had and Cindy's been hogging the airspace for three weeks. We'll do better. She's leaving on Wednesday. Can't be soon enough for me. She's so damned smug (greiving? not bloodly likely) and I've the urge to smack her face but...we're all just frustrated. There ARE more of us than of them, the election proved that and that was only the ones who voted...so be of good cheer. It's just as someone said...when the left protests...the right works to keep the country moving. The left collects welfare...the right punch in at work so the left just has a natural advantage in the protesting game. But we'll get better!
My family and I were talking about this yesterday....One thing that kept the "silent majority" silent during nam was the fear of violence.....FOr some reason, it doesn't exist today. If any of you have dealt with someone in denial often their reaction when someone confronts them is extreme anger and sometimes violence.
IMO that's what we're dealing with with SINdy and CO......Crawford police and organizers did an excellent job of keeping the two groups seperated.....
(Wonder if Martinville police will do the same or just let the town folks have at 'em today? Someone mentioned earlier...Martinville is NOT a town for anti war demonstrators!)Hope a freeper can give us a first hand report.
Your post made me think of something...
My son and I drove in from Crawford from the south on 317 .. On the very edge of Crawford we saw a fellow on the side of the road with his pick up truck and 3 or 4 flags... and signs saying Support the Troops and Support the President (or something to that effect). As we approached I thought it was Leapfrog - because there was a Marine flag. As we drove by it was an elderly fellow... with his oxygen tank... just waving at people as they drove by.
I was continually amazed at the cross section of people at the rally ... average Americans really... it was heartwarming .. and truly made me proud that we are speaking up!
I really think we need to keep it up - letting people know we are NOT the SILENT majority this time!
A couple of hours was plenty long enough in that heat and humidity. Unlike the other side, we had no "Patriot House" to retreat to. No Soros provided trailers (although we there two or three motor homes, some from the caravan, one that was there much earlier) As it was we had at least a couple of people hauled off in ambulances, and some number of others treated on site for heat exhaustion.
All of my photos can be found here

Feel free to post the link
I owe you double thanks!
One for responding so quickly to Leapofaith.
Second for letting me feel a part of the rally through your pictures.
The heat really was horrendous wasn't it? We brought a cooler full of water - and it's just about all gone. I've never drunk so much water in one day in my life.
Next time I'm bringing Gatorade.
All in all tho' it was a marvelous day wasn't it? It was tremedous to see SO MANY different groups represented - and all of us there to support the troops and our president!
I didn't notice.....
;*)
Hey Valerie ...
Sorry I missed you yesterday!!
I never did make it over to the building - had to laugh tho' I went to the "porta pottie"... and after being there it was refreshing to step OUTSIDE... hahahahaha
great photos val!
Did you ever get a response to your request to capture some of the photos herein and post them on the website for military moms, wives and girlfriends? My guess is you did but wanted to make certain.
Since the mainstream media is slow to relay the huge rally in support of the President ( they would not want to boost the moral of our military they are trying so hard to discourage ), perhaps we need to figure out a way to get the wondrous photos like yours as well as this thread out to every unit.
Perhaps there is someone at the pentagon, or a website that is primarily used by military over there, who could help us get this marvelous event out to these courageous troops.
Each and every one...can you not envision the laughter these folks would have over the graphics, as well. Ie., Freeper Prime Choice's humorous digs at liberalism, or the actual T-shirt on the back of that mom reading "sleep well America, my sons have your back!"..
I dunno, but it seems to me that getting these photos and getting this thread to our troops would be one of the best 'care' packages imagineable. This care package would feed their spirits and remind them how much we love them , and they need to hear about it...as Cindy attempts to trash their mission and devalue their jobs.
Got to go, but if anybody's interested, try Waco Tribune Herald There are a few videos and articles on yesterday's action. Kristinn is prominently mentioned in one of them.
