Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
Tonkawa Park. On the left end of the pic... there is a waterfall.. Great spot
"I'm going to be sad to leave on August 31st," Sheehan told the crowd. "And you know what? I won't be escaping. I'll be going, and we're going, to take Camp Casey to Congress.
Doesn't this woman need to go home and pay the bills and do the laundry and all the stuff the rest of use have to deal with in our day to day lives? Who can wander around aimlessly for weeks on end with no job, hanging out in a field with hippies and no identifiable source of income. The whole thing just annoys me.
We didn't see the water two weekends ago because the "Cindy Rally" was parking everywhere. No way was I going to go exploring through that group.
Thanks. I've got over FOUR HOURS of good video from this weekend. I want to get it to FReepers, but I think I may have bitten off a little more than I can chew.
I have some great footage of the KLIF AM 570 interview, where the press (and I mean Fox, ABC, NBC, etc.) try to rip her to shreds, and she just turns it right around on them and hands them their "you-know-whats"!
This lady is SHARP!
I also want to thank all who have posted the great photos, you did a wonderful job!
Yeah, that's a beautiful site, but my first thought was how much funkiness is probably in that water right now.
See #2454... I will post what I know on the Indiana board.
How about "pro-Victory" demonstrators instead?
Tonkawa Falls park

The Latest From Crawford
Pro-America protesters are descending on Crawford, Texas to counter Cindy ("America is not worth dying for") Sheehan, Michael (the terrorists are "Iraq's Minutemen") Moore, Al Sharpton, and other far-left publicity hounds.
The Associated Press has an account (via Power Line News) that mentions the Protest Warriors, whose encounter with the pro-America group was tense, for a moment, until the pro-Americans realized that the Protest Warriors were on their side. We talked to one of the Protest Warriors on our radio show this afternoon, live from the Minnesota State Fair. He was calling from Crawford, and related the same story that is repeated by the AP.
Documentary filmmaker Andrew Marcus of Chicago is in Crawford to cover the action; his site Lights Camera Protest has some good photos. Andrew notes the lavish funding that supports Sheehan's publicity stunt: "Michael Moore and Ben from Ben and Jerrys can sure afford a pretty big tent!"
Gene Allen, who has been in Crawford a number of times over the past few months, adds:
I got a call from Kelly in Crawford. 3000 people met Not In My Name tour in Wal-Mart parking in Waco for a rally this AM and caravaned to Crawford for large rally downtown. One mom reached her son via phone in Iraq and crowd went nuts.
I'd be curious to know what the soldier in Iraq thinks of Michael Moore, Al Sharpton, Ben and Jerry and Cindy (America is "morally repugnant") Sheehan. We'll keep you updated as we get more information.

Thanks, that ugly dude next to him is me.
See post #2344, a soldier's funeral tomorrow in Martinsville, IN is rumored planned to be picketed by some anti-military group.
Don't think you have to worry about that--swimming is a little too close to bathing for them :)
This has GOT to agitate all the atheist commie hippies. Look at the mixed damn imagery this sends to the Islamokazis!?!?! Hello? Crusader Cindy? Or what?
Great article!!
I wonder how much barbeque sauce Mrs. Kirsch managed to sell in the American Sector!
< Yeah...this is looking at their "serenity garden" or whatever they call it. I actually saw a woman walking in it...it's a circle path of rocks. I guess they get dizzy and feel they've reached a higher plane or something. LOL

Kinda like the Maze at Oz...no, not that Oz.
"Coverage on Fox of today's events has been no different than would have been spun by Dan Rather or Peter Jennings (RIP). It seems that now that Fox has reached the top, it has become complacent in the MSM hierarchy, and is jettisoning the strategy that got it there. A review of the tapes will show the following:"
Great summary and statement! You may wish to add part of the following to your list -
I saw the last report on Fox (on Geraldo's show, a little after 7 here) and across the screen while Deborah and the other guy were speaking, they were running the names of the 2 gentlemen (don't recall their names but believe they are or were CA state congressmen) who I believe started MAF and/or organized the MAF caravan. I saw nothing about who's bankrolling Cindy or moveon.org. - Fair and balanced (NOT)
War! What is it good for?
Freedom and justice!
