Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.

Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!

Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.

They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.

The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.

Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.

To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!

That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.

And the rally did get disrupted, unfortunatley, for a short while. This was not like a protest face to face in the streets. I think many felt violated at first sight of the signs.

As much as I hate to say it, most folks there were not Freepers. At least not yet. Anyway, we still have to use sarcasm tags here because folks don't get it. So, I can understand the confusion. Still, someone should have used the opportunity to explain it after it was all over. Now I will quit repeating myself and move on. (um, not as in moveon).

Anyone near these funerals? They need to be met with resistance. Funerals and war hospitals, how SICK can you be?

Glad to hear in Martinsville people are gearing up to face them down.

BTW, about the PW, they are good guys/gals. Some need to Ease up. A mistake was made. Apologies offered. A few more people learned not to be so quick to tear up signs and learned who they were, PW came through without bodily harm. IMO, let it go and maybe send them a nice note or donate to thir site a few dollars. Maybe next time a rally is held and know they will be attending, let the audience know what they do beforehand then everything will be cool. :-)

Tell them to involve the Fire Dept. Place the scum on a section away from the place of service. Have the fire trucks placed in front of the scum buckets. This was done at the first one I'd heard of. I bet the Fire Dept. would back up this family.

So why don't you join the police force and do something about it for next time- in the case of this event- it is over- so get over it.

Mistakes were made- you are right it is not cool to tear up anyone's sign- but everyone else got over it- you should give it a try yourself.

There were a whole lot of people in front of me holding signs and waving flags ~ I could only see the top of it as they held it up enough so that part was visible above the crowd.
