Police Need Your Help In Capturing Beating Suspects
August 24, 2005
Video : KOMO 4 NEWS Police say the three brutally beat two soldiers just home from the war in Iraq outside a Pioneer Square club, but it was caught on videotape.
SEATTLE - Two soldiers who just returned from a year in Iraq were badly beaten in an attack outside Pioneer Square. But believe it or not, someone caught the beating on videotape. Now, police are asking for your help identifying the suspects.
The brutality of it all was captured on tape outside of Larry's Nightclub on First and Yesler on July 31.
Police say the victims were with two women who'd been groped by the suspects. One of the women threw a hot dog at the suspects and walked away.
They didn't get very far. The three suspects ran after them and began attacking the two men -- two soldiers who'd come home from the war.
The graphic videotape shows both victims getting beaten over and over again, and then after one of the victims loses consciousness, a suspect starts stomping on his head.
Now police want your help in catching these guys.
"We consider them very dangerous," said Seattle Police Officer Sean Whitcomb.
After not getting any leads, Seattle police have just released this tape to the media even though it happened over three weeks ago.
If you know who these suspects are, or have any information in the case, you're asked to call Seattle Police.
Both victims suffered broken jaws, while one suffered a broken arm and both had other broken bones and several bruises.
Here's some closer photos and video of the suspects.

Please, don't turn this into a flame war. Lets stick with the questions that demand answers.
Lets ask the tough questions regarding why they didn't use the publics help in identifying the suspect *if* they had the video tape evidence long ago. This crime occurred about 3 weeks ago, and was just reported.
Why did they wait to report this? Did law enforcement inform the media? Was the media or law enforcememt involved in failing to put out this information? If so why?
This story is too important and there seem to be legitimate questions regarding why it wasn't reported until 3 weeks after this terrible crime.
Forget the flames, lets ask the tough questions here.
Does anyone recognize anyone on this video? Can you add any questions below that can be forwarded to the right people. I can do that. Here are mine.
1. When did the law enforcement in that jurisdiction have custody and possession of the video tape evidence?
2. Were the tapes given to any news agencies? Who had possession of the tapes and for how long prior to giving them to law enforcement? Were the tapes recently turned over to authorities?
3. If law enforcement had possession of the video for weeks, why did they wait to go public and show the suspects, that could result in their identification?
4. Why have there been no arrests? Is it due to lack of identity of the suspects?
5. Who is handling the investigation, and when were they assigned the case? When did they start their search for the suspects?
When did they find out there was video tape evidence of this brutal crime?
6. Are the suspects regular patrons of the bar?
7. Were the suspects cash paying customers or did they use other means to make purchases?
8. Does the bar utilize video tape for security? If so, where is it?
I'd say the media, the Mayor and Chief of Police have have a lot of very demanding questions to answer.
I'd just like to bring your attention to this.
Thanks.

I live in the general area and I honestly can't say there is a representative among that list who, by past actions, would make me think he / she cares.
BTTT. This article does have my self-control stretched a bit thin, though. I respect your wishes, however.
How did I know what they would look like before I viewed the video? But I did, right down to their worn-backwards caps and rear-end cleavage. But I don't move in their circle so unfortunately I can't help identify these "veterans"...of crime.
sickened ping...

Gosh I hope these criminals are caught.
This is 3 weeks old and it's just reported? I find this very suspect and questionable. Way more demanding questions than answers here.
Ping
I HOPE THE POLICE DONT CATCH THEM.........Before we get our hands on them.
That's an understatement. But that's the extent of my "criticism" of your response. Your 8 questions would provide a good starting point for them.
Ok - I'm sick and angered at once. I certainly hope they are caught and then taken care of appropriately and promptly. Prayers for complete recovery for the two heroes.
Good questions, all.
As I said in the pulled thread, the site of the crime is heavily Democrat.
I know exactly where that club is since I live in Seattle
Up the street on yesler is one of the worst areas of seattle and all kinds of young gangbanger wannabees looking to start fights come down there to pioneer square and act like savages.
Hope the Seattle police catch these animals.
Well yes, it is Seattle. Even more reason to ask the questions that beg for answers.
As a matter of fact, this just lead the news where I am, and I'm not even in the state of Washinton.
The questions need answers, regardless of who votes for what in that area.
Maybe it is my OS, but the video is not watchable due to distortion. Anyone have a better link?
The Police in Seattle don't want to exercise any prior restraint on this savages, and the paper doesn't want to publish all the violent crime that they commit.
They don't want the tourism at the ball park area spoiled.
There was a similiar murder few years back that couldn't be covered up and was an economic disaster.
Something else I noticed about this story. Not only was this reported 3 weeks after the crime, but it's almost non existent on the Internet, even though it just lead the news for the first time in my state. The video they just played on the news was pretty good. They nearly killed those two guys.
You may check your settings on your player for better resolution etc. If I find another link I'll post it for you.
