I will believe it when I see it. I just think they are giving the public a bunch of lip service. They know they are guilty of this.

In order to "step back" you first have to be "standing forward." If the US steps back any further, they will be in Canada!

Remember the CFR issued its policy statement long ago that there will be an open border with Mexico and Canada, and both parties are going to kow tow to that policy. This means the state of Mexas, Mexifornia, New Mexico and Mexizona are all in line for more of the same for the foreseeable future.

Also, if they can condemn your land to put up a shopping center, they can certainly condemn your land for a fence. However, if you are waiting for the government to condemn you land for a fence, you are quite safe, I'd say. I'll never happen.

"Let see, the thread is nearly eight hours old. Have they stopped yet so we can go home? They will lose interest soon, won't they?" said Mr. Chertoff.

Reacting to a public outcry is one thing. Let's see if there are any additional protection & enforcement improvements at the Mexican / U.S. border over the next couple of months - or this is another stall tactic?

Too many people/entities are making money off of them now. It's NOT going to happen. Mark my words.

*Real Estate -- selling them houses; renting apartments (Yes, illegals are buying houses).

* Manufacturing -- huge numbers of manufacturers and use illegal alien labor.

*Construction -- huge numbers of construction contractors use illegal alien labor.

* Retail Outlets -- make large amounts of cash money selling to illegal alien clients.

* Agriculture -- huge numbers of agricultural operations use illegal alien labor.

* Janitorial -- many people use illegal alien labor for instutional cleaning and for residential cleaning.

All of the individuals who have for years been making huge sums of money off of these people have much more influence on politicans than YOU.

According to Tom Tancredo and Bay Buchanan, both of whom I heard in person today, neither the Admin nor the Congress is doing anything at all about stopping illegal immigration. In fact they are doing all they can to stop any efforts to stop it. Tancredo is just great as a speaker and so was Bay.

Tom told of his trip to Mexico to meet with high government officials including the then head of "migration" a cabinet level post. The man told Tom that his job is to make it easier for Mexicans to cross the border illegally. In answer to Tom's remark about our sovereignty, the guy said, "there are not two nations, but only one 'region'." Tom was mortified.

Another problem that Tom found in his own CO district when he attended the opening of a new high school and spoke at the event. He asked the students, all from affluent families, how many of them believed that they live in the greatest country in the world. Of the 250 students in the assembly, only 10-12 raised their hands and did so tentatively, looking towards their teachers as if to get "permission" to say such a non-PC thing as that. The kids learn anti-Americanism and multi-culturism starting in grade school and it gets worse as they go along.

I have photos of the event today and will email them to anyone who wishes to post them on FR. I'm not sure how to post photos on FR, being semi-literate computerwise.
