Supporters of U.S. Involvement in Iraq Plan Caravans to Texas

Move America Forward will be conducting the “You Don’t Speak for Me, Cindy” caravan beginning next week. It will feature military family members who have loved ones serving in the war against terrorism in Iraq or Afghanistan. The delegation will be led by Deborah Johns of Marine Moms. (Her son has served in Operation Iraqi Freedom).

Main caravan leaves from San Francisco, California on Monday, August 22nd. Other caravans will depart from around the country. If you want to be part of a caravan, email us with your name and location you will depart from and we will include in our caravan coverage so people in your area can depart with you.

Everyone arrives in Crawford, Texas for a giant “We Support Our Troops AND Their Mission” Rally on Saturday, August 27, 2005.

If you have a loved one serving in Iraq or Afghanistan and would like to join the caravan please contact Move America Forward’s Robert Dixon: Robert@MoveAmericaForward.org

Could you imagine the reaction of those sniveling leftists punks, if a bunch of burly bikers approached them? It would be worth paying for to see them shi'ite their pretty pink panties.

You said, "we should not have gone to Iraq". I guess the deaths of our military men and women during Desert Storm should have been for nothing? Allow the same man who caused them to have to go to war, just get away with his crimes? We should have just let Saddam get away with that too, and not be forced to comply with the very agreements that ended that war?

From your perspective, the UN Resolutions meant nothing, and Saddam should not have been held accountable for his non-compliance? Just ignore the UN Resolutions that allowed Saddam to return to power after Desert Storm?

How can you support our troops when you do not support their mission? Are you aware that it is your lack of support for their mission is emboldening the terrorists in Iraq and elsewhere? You, people like you, and the MSM are making their jobs more difficult! If you want them to come home soon, then shut up, and stop helping our enemies.

I know some soldiers who would be pretty dang irritated (and I think they would probably use stronger language) if they were talking to you right now. They do not believe we should pull out of Iraq and let it fall into the hands of the terrorists after all they have fought and died for during Operation Iraqi Freedom. You say you honor our troops? Then let them do their jobs, let them finish their jobs, so their comrads will have NOT died in vain.

A military mom.

"I wonder if these people consider for a second that if we just up and pull out that every Iraqi who has worked with us for democracy will likely be slaughtered." That's exactly what they want. Don't think for a moment that these moonbats actually care about life. They want to create another Vietnam, and the mass slaughter that occurred after we pulled out just so they can point and say "see what evil war mongers caused". They don't care how many millions the tyrant Saddam killed, and was killing every day, nor his dream of someday killing every last Jew, and creating a terrorist network to reach out and touch the West, or his designs to be master of the mid-east.
I'm sure you are right about the behind the scenes people and the people using this as an excuse to attack America. But support for an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq is fluid and sensitive to press reports and momentum in public sentiment. If sentiment is fluid it should be fluid in both directions. Those who are not hardcore could be influenced.

To the extent that people are tricked into supporting a premature Iraq withdrawal we should be able to influence them by making sure they understand what would happen if we just left. The good people among them will care that the Iraqis who believe in us and have helped us would be slaughtered. The story needs to be personalized so the good but uninformed people can hear both sides.

This is Adnan - he is 14 and attends a school rebuilt by U.S. troops. His Father is a security guard and his mothers helps register women voters. They are targets of the extremists but live in a protected area. If the U.S pulls out they are exactly the kind of family most likely to be killed in retaliation.
I know that's a bad first effort but if we wait for the main stream media to make this point we will likely wait forever.

BTW, I know we shouldn't even have to make this argument at all because the self interest of our Republic should be enough but since we are combating emotional appeals this approach seems the way to go, IMO.

I’m thinking “kick their as and steal their gas” just ain’t getting the job done.

Such a policy would be a failure, I agree. The problem with your analysis is that this is not now and never has been the policy.

Too bad Cindy won't be there.

According to Fox, she's leaving because her mom had a stroke.

THIS STATEMENT JUST ISSUED FROM MOVE AMERICA FORWARD - The pro-troop caravan is still a go!

(SACRAMENTO) – Move America Forward has made the following statement regarding news of Cindy Sheehan’s temporary departure from her anti-war vigil in Crawford, Texas:

“We are sorry to learn of the illness facing Cindy Sheehan’s mother. Sheehan’s spokeswoman has indicated Cindy plans to return to Crawford, Texas in the next 24 to 48 hours. Whether or not she returns, the “You Don’t Speak for Me, Cindy” Tour will continue as originally planned. The issue here is the fact that the servicemembers and their families have not had their voices heard during the past weeks of Ms. Sheehan’s vigil. They support the troops AND the mission they are serving in. We are going to bring that voice to Crawford, Texas - and we invite people from around the nation to join our caravan and meet us for the super rally in Crawford, Texas on Saturday, August 27th.”

Signed,

Melanie Morgan
Chairman, Move America Forward

Seems that Cindy has already left the area. But don't worry, our favorite professional protestor/Communist agitator Medea Benjamin should be there to greet the caravan. Just saw her mug on the 6:00 p.m. newscast of KCEN-TV Ch 6. She was explaining to the reporter the progress they were making on setting up the new Camp Commie on the land donated for use by the local Bubba.

Now for their latest stunt: a letter writing campaign to Laura Bush, to "convince" her husband to "meet with Cindy". Good camera shots of all the agitators scribbling away on various sheets of paper. Whether they were really writing letters to the First Lady or not is anybody's guess. They could as well have been playing tic-tac-toe or Hangman.

Yeck - pardon me while I go wash out my TV set

This is the problem with us conservatives. We have jobs and responsibilities that we take seriously, that keep us from engaging in the same 24/7 protest tactics of the left.

The first reporter my husband talked to at last Saturday's rally in Crawford asked him "how long have you been here?". Since we had only arrive a few minutes prior it threw my hubby off for a second. But then he clued in the reporter wanted to know how many days. My husband said, "hey we're conservatives, we have day jobs".

Approximate location of President Bush's ranch appears to 7 to 10 miles WNW of Crawford, TX. Here's a Mapquest link to check out: Mapquest link to Crawford, TX - President Bush ranch location

The star on the map at this link the the approximate location of President Bush's ranch.

On this map at Yahoo! maps there is a park just east of downtown Crawford, Tonkawa Park. Looks like an excellent place for a rally. Link to Crawford, TX area map

Or something like that...

Crayons - in this heat? :)

Seriously though, looked like felt-tipped pens on paper of various colors.

Had the feel of an elementary school art class in session.

the new Camp Commie on the land donated for use by the local Bubba.

Don't you mean the local commie bubba? Not to be confused with other texas bubbas on this thread.

If they are writing letters maybe they will show the letters on TV. It ought to be fun to correct their spelling, grammer, etc.
