As she continues her anti-war protest, Cindy Sheehan is labeling President Bush a "maniac" and a "lying bastard," and she's vowing not to pay her federal income tax.
"My son was killed in 2004. I am not paying my taxes for 2004," Sheehan told an audience of Veterans for Peace. "You killed my son, George Bush, and I don't owe you a penny. ... You give my son back and I'll pay my taxes. Come after me [for back taxes] and we'll put this war on trial."

Sorry, but that is incorrect. The media does notice, has noticed. But, they are doing what the media always does: Picking and choosing what they will and will not report. Sheehan being discredited does not fit into their agenda so the IGNORE the the evidence against her.
Let us not think the media is ignorant or dumb. They are not! They are liberals, therefore mentally deranged, but definitely not stupid.

I'm curious that if John Kerry had won in 2004 would she still be camped out somewhere calling him a bastard, etc. I have my doubts.

Actually the "looney left" lover taxes and love people being forced to pay them at gun point.
Tax protesting isn't a liberal technique, setting up "foundations" by Lexus liberals to avoid taxes is their technique, but not outright refusal.
That's more of a right-wing tactic.
If she refuses to pay tax - the tax we all have to pay to support our country - she should be prosecuted, convicted and sent to prison. Nothing less will be acceptable.

Two other posts identify it as "a rally to support the troops". I think my sleep deprived brain sees the difference.

The woman is of the left, but is having a mental break down IMO.

I second that! Casey was a true hero, while his mother is simply spitting on her son's memory by acting like some hysterical Muslim in the streets of Lahore. You can tell that her family is SOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of what she is doing!
Considering what you wrote, one could speculate that Casey reenlisted just to get away from her. Can you imagine the screaming at the television during the elections and even during the Sunday morning shows? Then her son goes and supports the country she has learned to hate (not enough to leave it, just enough to stay and tear it down), becoming what she undoubtedly loathes to the core of her being: one of the military. Then you read "no one was there to see him off to Iraq (when the other soldiers' families were there)." Clearly, she cared very little for him then, when he needed moral support, and again when on the phone. It also doesn't speak well of the rest of the family. She is so filled with liberal hatred of America, that her son is just mentioned as a segue to prolonged tirade against the President and America. A simple look at her statements clearly demonstrate that her son is not the issue. Her hatred of President Bush and America in particular, and conservatives in general usually bubbles up by the second or third sentence.
No, she wouldn't be camping out in front of any of Kerry's five mansions.
