Has anyone seen any articles or heard quotes as to how often FR is referenced or researched by the "Talking Heads"? Whether or not that info is applied or not isn't as important....any info?

Some time ago a Freeper (sorry, can't remember who off hand) wrote a very clever piece comparing an attempt to prosecute Rush Limbaugh for "intent to evade" the federal $10,000 cash transaction reporting rules to calling the practice of driving just under the speed limit an "attempt to evade" traffic laws.
IIRC, Rush had a link to it on his site within a very short time, like a matter of minutes.

Never, of course, but I do wish they would credit me when they quote some of my posts --- almost word for word.

How often?
Daily if not hourly.

Tony Snow told me it is a given that he uses Free Republic as show prep.
There is a thread every weekday from 9-12 for his show and he often posts to us during the show.

I was reading a thread yesterday about NARAL pulling its ad and some FReeper called it a partial ad abortion. Then I turned on Rush and guess what I heard!!!!!

I remember a day not too long ago when when words that Pukin' Dog and myself wrote came out of Rush's mic within 10 to 15 min. of them being typed here. Verbatim. The MSM just edits and does extreme spin re-writes.

I think they surf the web. A 24 hour news cycle isn't that easy to fill.
If it leads, it bleeds. I think they seek out divisive issues to fill the space.
The activist Cindy (something) was started as a movement against Bush, but was voided as nothing but a kook agenda by the right. It went through it's normal cycle.
Next, maybe the Able Danger issue may be the big story. It voids the 9/11 Commission and validates Bush. The left will try to bury it. FOX is currently reporting it now.
Today, a WMD (chemical) bunker was found in Iraq, again validating Bush, so ther left will try to bury it, too.
It's jusy the eb and flow of things. The truth will survive, the lie will be exposed.

Respectfully, I think you are being naive.
Just as a case study look at the fake guard memos. It took weeks to get the MSM to get the truth until forced.
The media also works overtime to NOT cover certain stories.
Look at FNC now parroting the "mystery" members of the 9/11 commission saying the source was "unreliable". IOW the media allowing the left to attack the attackers.
The truth may come out EVENTUALLY, the media knows this, but by the time the eventually happens the damage is done.
By the time the old media gets around to exposing anti-war sheehan, the damage is done.
The media is being played like a fiddle. Just wait for act II, sheehan speaking at the impeach bush rally on Sept 24.
The MSM are voluntary monkeys for the left wing organ grinders.

I posted a comment about the lib's campaign to free Tibet with bumper stickers on their Volvos, Subarus and Saabs a while back. Heard it on a local radio show the next day. A coincidence?

they quote some of my posts --- almost word for word. lolMine too-- and I've seen many other freepers quoted too, a lot.
The way it is, if you post an MSM paragraph --even giving credit-- they sue, even when they've stealing your work. Nevertheless I'm 'lol'ing too because it's like Reagan said-- "it's amazing what you can get done if you don't mind who gets the credit". When we want the word out, we post it here and they publish it for us at no cost.
I've never had much respect for US copyright law anyway.

No documentation, but I'd imagine it's part of the "reading in" process, for convenience if for no other reason. The most important blogs, columns and events from anywhere right of center show up on FR pretty quickly. It's quicker than running down a long list of bookmarks to find out what folks are talking about at the watercooler.
Question to management: Is it possible to glean from FR server logs how many hits come from domains linked to MSM outlets? I suppose that might be difficult to read, with the Time Warner hits blending in with the rest of the AOL traffic, NBC blending in with GE, etc., and folks using their own personal accounts, but it still might be interesting.

A recent report shows Free Republic is the most visited political web site of all. Over 3.6 million unique visitors come to FR each week, which is more than Drudge Report or anybody else. Anybody in the media who is not using FR as a resource is foolish. FR is the most powerful web site in American politics.

Heck everybody knows they come here first and then put it out on the tube as if they created the storyline.
I've even given up on FNC for info 'cause it's hours old.
or they won't put out the full story. Case in point- today around 14:30 (CST) FNC did a blurb from Crawford and all they had were shots of the leftists and hardly made mention of Us while we know from live reports that we are in Crawford as Freepers and other groups as well.

There was an obscure issue that I brought to FR with links ... and it was a popular thread. It was in MSM within two days with Freeper quotes intact.

Rush Limbaugh and his assistants use FR for some of the show prep. So do other talk show hosts. The MSM gets it's (mis) information elsewhere.

Yep.
Rush, Tony, and Sean all monitor FR for show prep and during the show.
(Sometimes Rush even acknowledges FR as the source.)
