Friday, Aug. 12, 2005 9:47 a.m. EDT 9/11 Commission Covered-up Gorelick Warning
A 1995 memo from a top terrorism prosecutor warning that a directive by Clinton administration Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick "could cost lives" is being concealed by the 9/11 Commission.
Compounding the cover-up - Gorelick herself was a prominent member of the Commission and refused to recuse herself from parts of the 9/11 investigation that covered the now notorious "wall" she erected that prevented intelligence and law enforcement agencies from cooperating in the war on terror.
In June 1995, U.S. Attorney for New York's Southern District Mary Jo White warned the Justice Department that Gorelick's prohibition against intelligence sharing would hamper U.S. counterterrorism efforts. "It is hard to be totally comfortable with instructions to the FBI prohibiting contact with the United States Attorney's Offices when such prohibitions are not legally required," White wrote on June 13, 1995 in a memo reported Friday by the New York Post's Deborah Orin.

The policy, often referred to as a "wall," was established well before Clinton took office and was retained by the Bush administration; it is unclear whether the "wall" played any role in the decision to withhold information about Atta.
The joint House and Senate intelligence committees' report of pre-September 11 intelligence failures did not find that the "wall" originated in the Clinton administration; the report
http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/24jul20031400/www.gpoaccess.gov/serialset/creports/pdf/fullreport_errata.pdf#page=415 states: "The 'wall' is not a single barrier, but a series of restrictions between and within agencies constructed over 60 years as a result of legal, policy, institutional and personal factors." Similarly, a ruling by the top-secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review -- when it met for the first time in 2002 -- traces the origin of the "wall" to "some point during the 1980s."
Nor did enforcement of the "wall" end with the Clinton administration. In his April 12, 2004, testimony before the 9-11 Commission, Thornton General John Ashcroft conceded that his own deputy attorney general, Larry Thompson, reauthorized the "wall" in August 2001.
It is unclear whether the "wall" prevented intelligence sharing about Atta during the Able Danger operation; the 9-11 Commission plans to soon investigate why information identifying Atta was withheld from law enforcement agencies.
In the summer of 2000, the military team "Able Danger", prepared a chart that included visa photographs of the four men and recommended to the military's Special Operations Command that the information be shared with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but the
The recommendation was rejected and the information was not shared,at least in part because Mr. Atta, and the others were in the United States on valid entry visas, even though the American law that says United States citizens and green-card holders may not be singled out in intelligence-collection operations by the military or intelligence agencies does not apply to visa holders.
So despite Rush's assertions, it was not a wall erected by Clinton and Jamie Gorelick that was the problem - and indeed the wall that did exist was erected by Reagan/Bush and reauthorized by George W Bush before 9/11.

...."We're being duped."
Not to mention screwed. The institutions which are supposed to be providing us with the facts aren't......
My take is that we were duped and are currently being enlightened. The hidden truth has been presented and is now being verified by all who knew it was being hidden.

Thank you, Democratic troll. Who do you work for?

That "wall" was not erected solely for protecting the Clinton/Gore campaign. That wall was the foundation of a plan that was supposed to be handed to algore, then hillary. The direction they were planning on taking this country should scare the bejeebies out of anyone who is paying attention, and even those who aren't but should be.
The clintonistas had planned on being in power for a minimum of 20 years, with hillary taking the reins when we were totally weakened. IMO, their plan was diabolical enough that hillary was to be the last president and the first dictator of America.
Tin foil hat? Maybe. But I don't think that scenario is out of the realm of possibility.

Lost faith in Repubs? You're not the only one. Berger was caught red-handed. What was his sentence? I think he's mowing a senior citizen's lawn somewhere right now. These people don't live in the same world you and I do.

In my opinion, Clinton was at the root cause of 9/11,..I agree. Only Osama Bin Laden has more blood on his hands.

Yup, that was all over the news. IMO the firing of ALL the US attorneys and separating the domestic and foreign intelligence service was all about protecting Charlie Trie and Elaine Kanchanalak and the rest of them. Notice how they all left for China when Gore bumbled the donation pipeline? And for some odd reason only Maria Hsia went to jail.
All the bad things that fell after this (including the WTC) was just unintended consequences from hiding the fact that the administration was owned by China.

In a more civilized era, traitors like Gorelick would meet their end in the electric chair.
To: Rodney King
In any honest country, this traitor should be found hanging from a lamp post.

Is there any coincidence that Sandy Burglar's final sentencing will occur about the same time that Fitzgerald will let the next shoe drop? The GWOT is intertwined with the Grunwald-Cooper-Hillary-Berger-Pincus relationships and the Plame-Game-Wilson-Clark-Kerry Campaign, hate Bush scenario. The 9-11 commission is not far away from WMD and the wars in Afghanistan & Iraq.

It's pretty clear that an organized infiltration of the FreeRepublic is underway.

You're way ahead of me on that one. I recall reading that Berger was unhappy with his security clearance being lifted.
