FAMILY OF FALLEN SOLDIER PLEADS: PLEASE STOP, CINDY! Thu Aug 11 2005 12:56:21 ET
The family of American soldier Casey Sheehan, who was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004, has broken its silence and spoken out against his mother Cindy Sheehan's anti-war vigil against George Bush held outside the president's Crawford, Texas ranch.
The following email was received by the DRUDGE REPORT from Casey's aunt and godmother:
Our family has been so distressed by the recent activities of Cindy we are breaking our silence and we have collectively written a statement for release. Feel free to distribute it as you wish. Thanks Ð Cherie
In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue: Sheehan Family Statement:
The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.
Sincerely,
Casey Sheehan's grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
Developing..
Agreed.
Remember the Buddist self-immolation in Vietnam?
I could see this nutcake doing something similar in Crawford.
Oh, yes, the MSM cameras will just happen to be there when she tries it.
I was thinking today that maybe, before the fall gets here, we may get lucky enough to have our very own sort of "Triple Crown."
Joe and Valerie get completely discredited.
Sheehan is shown for the fool that she is, along with the groups supporting her.
And, the cherry on top, maybe Clinton's role in 9-11 will FINALLY be exposed, along with Jamie Gorelick.
(You can add a fourth if you want: completely showing the 9-11 Commission for the partisans they were, including, by the Grace of God, Richard Ben Vineste.)
I am so sorry for your loss, but I still disagree.
Thank you for your service to our country!
May I say here to Casey Sheehan: Thank you for serving your country and I truly hope that one day I may thank you in person and shake your hand. God Bless President Bush and God Bless our beloved military.
Quadruple crown would be fine with me. And I think it really IS possible.
The left and the media would explode with all that happening, LOL! We shall continue to hold out all hope.
...political opportunist.
Disagree all you want, unless you have lost a child yourself, you don't know what you're talking about.
When you lose a child, you have a CHOICE: you can grovel it in to call attention to yourself, OR you can realize that you losing your mind will reflect poorly on the life of your child.
It's a CONSCIOUS choice people make.
We can all see the choice Cindy has made. This is about HER, not him. She LIKES being a grieving mother.
And I thank you for your thoughts, as I am sure you truly mean them. I'm not trying to be offensive about this, but I am one person, among many, on this forum who KNOWS what losing a child is like; this simply ain't it.
Oh, I have another one to add: complete exposure of NARAL as a pack of liars!
Also, consider that we may just get some big exposure from the CIALEAK thing.......perhaps the press will be completely discredited, too.
Well.........a girl can hope, can't she?
don't get me started on those losers!
Thank you for your service to our country, I lost a couple of friends to Viet Nam.
Cindy Sheehan and the rest of the protesters seem to forget the day the world changed: 9/11/01 - the day America was attacked and 3,000 innocent people were hideously killed.
Folks, sorry I got carried away, but she IS a disgusting excuse for a human being.
"Many of the relatives do not want their names made public, and will not be making further statements."
Given the hateful antics of some of the people supporting Cindy Sheehan, I can't say as I blame them. See the Michelle Malkin thread.
I understand. I don't want to be contentious either, and I recognize that I haven't lost a child. However, I also recognize that grief is handled differently from person to my person. My brother didn't miss a beat when our father died. I went weeks with little or no sleep, lost 40 pounds, and almost permanently wrecked my health. People are different. I think this woman has broken down, and is being led.
I certainly don't disagree with you, but I just can't imagine the horror of losing a child and what it might do to my ability to think rationally. I disagree totally with what she is doing but am so very sorry for her loss. And I have little doubt that in her grief her judgment is clouded so that she has less clarity into the motives of those left-wing activists egging her on. They should be ashamed of themselves.
I would like to second that.
Malkin's blog is hilarious...one guy emailed her from work, with his email, people found out which insurance company it was and called the company. The guy is fired for inappropriate use of company property and resources...LOL
