A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest! We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

Excellent Haikus, Vitoria!
Shiny magazines
Pages slick under my paws
Great place for a nap!
A terrible battle!
Papers torn about the room
What's a Term Paper?
Cool porcelain sink
Made for me on hot sunny days
Such clever humans!
Where a dog would bark
Cats curl up wait patiently
We're funny that way.
A shoelace bounces
In time with Dad's sneakered foot
Begging me to Attack!

Silence, me, a paper bag.

"Up with the chickens I was. Milked 25 cows, fed 35 hogs, shoveled off the steps and Walked 10 miles in the snow up to my chin every morning. Didn't like it, but I did it. BTW, where were you when I was doing all that work? In the bed, that's where." Thou malignest me, Sistah Nan - - sniff, sniff...
I was MAKING UP the 10 beds in the house, including yours - AFTER I chopped kindling for the stove, helped Mama cook the bacon and eggs and grits, and cut out the biscuits with the jelly jar for her.....you did that other stuff to get outta cookng!

Toughest part is raising enough money to do what needs to be done. I hear what you're saying. JK had the same problem when he ran for City Council. Raising money is just difficult, but unfortunately necessary in order to get your name out there.
I know that you are the best man for the job and you know I am pulling for you, keeping my fingers crossed and saying a prayer or two. :-)

Ha! You won't get by with that one. I know you hate to cook too. You might get by with the bed-making bit, but twas no day that ye stayed in the kitchen with Mama. I know you had your head stuck in a book. Always trying to be the best speller in your class. Winning spelling bees and such as that. Well Sistah mine, I had my glories too. I.......and I....there was that time I......it was when......shush, I'm thinking...it'll come to me.....

I'm praying too. Surely the good folk will see the wisdom of having someone who is not part of the problem.

"You won't get by with that one. I know you hate to cook too." That is WHY I hate to cook now!
" I had my glories too."
Yep - you planted morning glories - then were saying "Glory be!" - -
now it's "Glory to God!" and you are positively shining..:))
Need to go to bed early, with company coming in the morning....
{{{ Hugs}}} Good Night, Nan...

Hi Amy. Hope you're still around. Looks like Marissa had a gorgeous time. Good for her.
Glad you liked the haiku.

LOL!!! Love those graphics, Nan!
To: Victoria Delsoul
