A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Got a gripe? Wanna share it? Wanna get it off your chest? Well, now's your chance...right here, right now!
I'll start... I like the sidebar - I like seeing the titles of Breaking News, and other news, when I check My Comments. What I DON'T like is those annoying polls at the top of the sidebar! I don't like polls; I don't particularly like to vote in them, so I don't like having to check one of the little squares just to move the *latest* one to the bottom of the sidebar. Whether we have Opinion Polls on the sidebar or not should be an option *we* can choose in our Preferences. At least I think so. :(
This thread will run for two days, so go ahead; it's your turn...get on *your* soapbox! (but do watch your language!)

It's a new day...please join us for another "tell it like it is...Johns "2 cents" HERE
To: Colonial Warrior; LUV W
yes, luv.. it is too easy to "borrow".. but as billie has told us , it is impt to get them onto your own server so they don't disappear. I have not yet done that as I find it is time consuming enough to get one or two combos you like & maybe change a few things for whatever reasons & post. i have a few of my own backgrounds etc saved but most are "borrowed".
I have a slew of photos that I am going to use. Billie also corrected my size. I had said I think to you to have a 300 X 400. She recommends very small file as it will be replicated on the image somehow.
Your green combo frame was very striking to me CW. As I am an outdoor person that particular color green would work well with the thousands of photos I have with nature's colors.
Well there is a new thread, but thought I would address these things here where they started rather than go onto the political satire thread early with off topic stuff.

I always save stuff to my server. I have a friend on another forum who was in a hurry and just decided to post something without saving and up popped the nastiest message I have ever seen for the whole world to see, under her name. She had the mods remove it quickly but it taught both of us a valuable lesson! LOL!
It is time-consuming and man, when the "pinger" is going off like crazy in the background it is hard to concentrate like you want to. I think I am finally "getting" what the various commands mean within the table....sorta....

Oh, yeah, I know.
Everything I snag goes straight to Fotki before I ever touch it to put in on a thread. And I've gotten to where I can do it pretty fast when I need one in a hurry.

Seems like a lot of the big churches around here have more than one service. Sometimes it is due to lack of space for everyone, sometimes they do it to have 2 different types of services. I haven't heard any services around here in Spainish, but if I went across the state line to K.C., KS, I bet I would. If they do I would be glad for them, illegal aliens need Jesus just as much as I do.

we were referring to the lego church.. lol
but you are right re: all needing jesus. many churches have bi-lingual services. I have found in our brotherhood (independent Christian Church) Korean is the one.

I answered her question ("Speak Spainish?") with a "no" also. I want to learn Spainish so that I can survive this, because of the examples that we both gave.
When I was in high school I took French because I had some Edgar Allen Poe short stories that had little French by-lines at the beginning of the story and I was interested in Art. I thought learning Spainish would be more practical but was not attracted to Mexico. I'm glad I took French, but wish I had taken Spainish too.
I think I should write to "Chipolte" also. A couple of years ago I went to the first one that opened, asked the server if guacamole was extra, and she said "guacamole?" and slapped some on my burrito. When I got to the register I explained what happened, and the manager, who was on the register, said there was no charge today, but I would know for next time. He said it in a way that gave me the impression he thought I was tricking his non-English speaking employee. I have NOT been back to that restaurant since. I went to the "Chipolte" that I now go to the other day and the young and pretty cashier and an older man had a longer conversation in Spainish than was necessary and I got to wait while they chit-chatted. Yep, I need to write them.
A side note, I've heard that Chipolte is owned by McD...

Wonderful, NnB.
I missed your poems while away from Internet Access. I've been having FR withdrawals.
